All is well between Cristine Reyes, Ynna Asistio

MANILA – All is well between Cristine Reyes and Ynna Asistio, who was tagged as the reason behind the Kapamilya star’s breakup with Derek Ramsay. Speaking on “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, Asistio said she was able to talk to Reyes before she left for Hawaii last month, where she had a number of shows with Ramsay. “Nagkausap kami before sila umalis papuntang Hawaii. Sabi ko, ‘Akala ko galit ka sa akin kasi 'yung mga tao.’ Sabi niya, ‘Ano ka ba alam mo namang hindi lang talaga ako nagre-reply.’ So okay kami ni Cristine,” she shared. Asistio said she and Ramsay are also in good terms, stressing that she did not cause the former couple’s separation. “As long as hindi ako sinabihan ng lalaki na nanliligaw siya, ayaw ko mag-assume. I think kaya ako 'yung nasasabing reason kasi talagang lumabas din sa news na lumalabas kaming dalawa,” she said. Asistio said Reyes has been a long-time friend while she only became friends with Ramsay recently via the image-sharing site Instagram. “Naging friends kami ni Derek noong naghiwalay kami ni Mark (Herras). Si Cristine, matagal ko na siyang kilala. Si Derek, matagal na siyang friend ng mommy ko, pero nagkakilala lang kami nung naghiwalay kami ni Mark. Naging constant ang conversation namin sa Instagram,” he said. While she admitted that she got together with the actor a number of times, Asistio emphasized they were always part of a group. “[Nag-meet kami] nung nalaman niya na wala na akong boyfriend. Nag-meet kami pero as friends lang, kasama ko noon 'yung mga kapatid ko. After noon, dirediretso kaming magkasama,” she explained. Asked how she felt when her name got dragged into the breakup, Asistio said: “Honestly ang dami po talagang umaway sa akin sa Instagram. Napilitan akong mag-lie low. Nasaktan ako pero alam ko 'yung totoo and alam kong hindi naman totoo ang sinasabi ng mga tao.” Asistio said she just decided to distance herself so as to put an end to rumors. “I had to kasi ang dami ng issues na lumabas nung naging sila. Parang ayaw kong ma-involve so lumayo na lang ako,” she said. In a previous interview, Asistio expressed concern that rumors tagging her in the separation might negatively affect her career as a Kapamilya. Asistio, a former GMA-7 actress, transferred to ABS-CBN early this year and is now one of the artists of the Kapamilya talent management firm Star Magic. "Ang importante lang sa akin ngayon... kumbaga gusto ko lang alagaan 'yung binibigay sa akin ng ABS. So sana huwag nalang po ako idamay. Gusto ko lang i-clear na never po nanligaw si Derek, para matapos na po," she said. "Ayoko pong sayangin 'yung opportunity na 'to kasi minsan lang po magkaroon ng ganitong opportunity, so gusto ko po talaga alagaan," she added.

Derek appeals: Don't judge Cristine

MANILA – Derek Ramsay did not hesitate to defend his former girlfriend, Cristine Reyes, against those who are linking the actress to various men following their breakup. Speaking to “Buzz ng Bayan,” Ramsay said it is unfair that Reyes is being depicted as that kind of girl. “It’s not fair for Cristine that she’s getting all this negative stuff. Cristine is not that type of girl. I would know because I’m her best friend. Hindi siya ganoon so sana matigilan na 'yung mga paninira, mga rumors na nakakasakit sa kanya, sa akin,” he said. While they have decided to end their month-long relationship, Ramsay said he still cares for Reyes because she remains his best friend. At the same time, Ramsay denied that they got back together after their series of shows in Hawaii. “Everyone says we were there for vacation and that we got back together. Cristine and I were there for work. We were in Hawaii. We were mature enough to let our friendship take over and that’s where we stand right now,” he said. Ramsay and Reyes became close friends after working together in the 2011 movie “No Other Woman,” which also starred Anne Curtis. It was in August 28 when they officially became a couple but they took everyone by surprise when they confirmed their breakup on October 7. Despite this, the two reportedly maintain a good relationship.

Derek denies rekindling romance with Cristine in Hawaii

MANILA – Actor Derek Ramsay denied rumors that he and actress Cristine Reyes have rekindled their romance after they spent time together in Hawaii for a series of shows. In an interview with the entertainment website Pep.ph, Ramsay said it is not true that they have gotten back together, adding that he believes that they are better off as friends. “No, it’s not true. We’re friends, we're better off that way. Nakita ko nga sa Instagram na parang sinasabing boses ni Derek 'yun... hindi ako yun,” he said. Despite their breakup, Ramsay said she and Reyes have managed to go back to how they used to be when they were just close friends. “Yeah, we were like what we used to be. Kaibigan niya rin 'yung best friend ko from Australia. Parang nagsama kami, apat kami noon. 'Yung ex-boss ng best friend ko was with us. And there were few days na we did something together,” he explained. While they stayed in the same hotel in Hawaii, Ramsay clarified that they weren’t together the entire time. “Cristine and I, we’re in the same hotel, we were able to talk, so wala kaming problema. But she moved to… she had a show pa in the States, mainland. She went off to the mainland. Ako, bumalik na ako dito,” he said. Ramsay added: “There, she had her own thing, her own itinerary. Pero there was one time na we did all go out, and we had a lot of fun. Clean fun.” By Ramsay's admission, he and Reyes became a couple last August 28, after being close friends since 2011 when they co-starred in the romance-drama film "No Other Woman." It was on October 7 when Ramsay admitted that his one-month romance with the actress was the “shortest longest relationship” he ever had. “Shortest [because] it’s a month. Longest, because I have a friend for life. And I’m gonna be her friend for life,” he said in a report published on philstar.com. While he refused to give details about his breakup with Reyes, Ramsay said, “It’s just a decision that was made.”

Ynna Asistio tagged in Derek-Cristine split

MANILA -- Ynna Asistio denied causing the breakup of celebrity couple Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes, amid rumors of the actor's supposed intentions to woo her. "Gusto ko lang i-clear -- si Derek at si Cristine, matagal ko nang kaibigan. Gusto ko lang i-clear sa lahat na never akong niligawan ni Derek. Magkaibigan kami," the 22-year-old Asistio told ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual on Tuesday. Reports of Ramsay and Reyes' supposed separation surfaced early this week, after both TV stars changed their Instagram usernames from "kingderekramsay" to "kidlatramsay11," and "QueenCKRamsay" to "AwesomeQueenCK," respectively. Their original usernames referred to their being a couple. By Ramsay's admission, he and Reyes became a couple last August 28, after being close friends since 2011 when they co-starred in the romance-drama film "No Other Woman." Ramsay and Reyes have yet to confirm the break-up. Recalling hearing of the news, Asistio said, "Isa rin ako sa mga nag-wish na maging okay silang dalawa, dahil best friends talaga sila. Alam ko 'yon. So sana, tama na, tigilan nalang po, ayoko nalang po talaga madamay diyan." Asistio, who is a long-time friend of Reyes, said she only met Ramsay recently. While she admitted that she got together with the actor a number of times, Asistio emphasized they were always part of a group. "Matagal na kaming magkakilala ni AA (Reyes' nickname), at saka sobrang close kami, at alam ni AA 'yon. Nagkaka-usap kami 'til now. So sana po hindi na lang ako isama, kasi problema po nila 'yon," she said. Referring to Ramsay's rumored visit to her place, Asistio said, "Nagkaroon ng time na gano'n. Nung nagkakilala kami, group of friends naman kami, hindi naman po kaming dalawa lang or ano. So 'yun lang din. Talagang nagkaroon ng time na talagang nagkakasama kami." Focusing on career Bringing up her recent breakup with actor Mark Herras, which she confirmed in July this year, Asistio continued, "Ayoko pong pumasok pa ulit sa relasyon." The 22-year-old actress also expressed concern that rumors tagging her in the separation might negatively affect her career as a Kapamilya. "Ayoko pong sayangan 'yung opportunity na 'to kasi minsan lang po magkaroon ng ganitong opportunity, so gusto ko po talaga alagaan," she added.

After one month, Derek, Cristine break up?

MANILA – Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes are both mum on rumors that they have already called it quits after just a little over a month into their relationship. Speculations about the breakup began circulating online after Ramsay changed his Instagram username from “kingderekramsay” to “kidlatramsay11.” Meanwhile, from the username @QueenCKRamsay, Reyes is now using the Twitter name @AwesomeQueenCk. While Ramsay has now kept his image-sharing account private, Reyes, for her part, has not posted any picture with the actor in the past few days. Reyes and Ramsay became a couple last August 28. Prior to their relationship, the two first were tapped to play a married couple in the romance-drama film "No Other Woman" in 2011. At the time, Reyes and Ramsay were still with their respective partners. It was only only in January 2013 that Reyes and actor-dancer Rayver Cruz made a televised announcement of their separation, which happened the previous year. Ramsay and actress Angelica Panganiban, on the other hand, broke up in February 2012. Since Reyes' separation from Cruz, the actress and Ramsay have been romantically linked. While the two admitted that they frequently go out, they maintained they were only friends. The two said becoming a couple came unexpectedly for them as they had intended to be only good friends.

A text message has been circulating that supposedly provides a link to the alleged sex video. The text says: "Scandal ni Rayver at Christine nasa (link to website) haha it's so hot!" Cruz has already reacted to the blast text, saying he feels he and Reyes are being used to spread a computer virus, noting the link attached in the message. "I got the text too. I just laughed about it. I didn't bother opening it. It is a blast text, I didn't bother," Ramsay said in an interview on Thursday at a press conference for Dunkin' Donuts, which he is endorsing. Ramsay also said there's is no need for him to talk to Reyes about it. "I didn't mention it to her. I know what it is. My friends also got the text," he added. Ramsay stressed that this particular issue will not affect their relationship. "Even if there is (video), it doesn't matter because past is past. That doesn't matter to me," he said. Cruz has categorically denied the existence of any sex video showing him and Reyes. "Wala talaga. Syempre, ano, huwag naman gano'n," he said. Reyes is currently working with Cruz in the primetime series "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin."

How Derek and Cristine became a couple

MANILA – For the first time, actress Cristine Reyes openly spoke about her relationship with actor Derek Ramsay, which only became official last August 28. At the sidelines of the Hero Ko charity basketball game on Sunday, Reyes related to ABS-CBN News how her friendship with Ramsay evolved into something special. Reyes said the awkwardness began after she and Ramsay went out several times together to shop for groceries. “Kinausap niya ako. Sabi niya, ‘Ano ito? What’s happening?’ Sabi ko, ‘I don’t know, I’m just waiting for you to ask me kung ano ang nangyayari kasi parang hindi na normal na ginagawa ito ng magkaibigan,'’’ Reyes said. The actress said she did not expect Ramsay’s reply. “Kinilig ako. He said na he’s in love daw with me. He just didn’t know for two years. I think I feel the same way. Hindi rin ako aware na may ganung feeling. Hindi naman namin ina-assume, basta sobra lang ang pag-aalaga namin sa isa’t isa pero ang tingin namin magkaibigan lang,” she said. Reyes said she was at a loss for words at that exact moment because she thought such things only happen in movies. “Hindi ako makasalita kais parang hindi ko ma-imagine na umaamin siya sa akin ng ganun kasi magkaibigan kami. Lagi ko siyang inaasar, kinukulit. Ganun din siya sa akin. Tatawagan niya ako kung gusto niya lang mambwisit tapos all of a sudden, [sasabihin niya] I’m in love?” she said. Up to now, Reyes admitted that she still feels awkward whenever she and Ramsay would hold hands. “Kaming dalawa naman aminado kami sa isa’t isa na dalawang taon kaming magkaibigan and alam namin talagang genuine 'yung friendship namin. Nandiyan siya, I have his back. Nandiyan din ako. It’s really, really awkward in a good way. Hindi naming in-expect pero ramdam naming masaya kami,” she said. Just like Ramsay, Reyes said she ate her words when she entered into a relationship with the actor because she had said she wants to focus on her career first. Mom’s, Rayver’s approval Meanwhile, Reyes said she feels relieved that her mother and former boyfriend Rayver Cruz are both happy for her new relationship. “Aware naman si Rayver na talagang aalagaan ako ni Derek. Kaibigan namin si Derek, dumadalaw kami before sa bahay nila. Walang ilangan,” she said. She added: “Two nights ago, nag-dinner kami ng sister ko. Sumunod si Rayver doon so napag-usapan namin the whole thing. Which is good kasi sobrang healthy [ng relationship namin] ni Rayver. Kung ano ang relasyon namin, walang nagbago. It’s just that hindi na kami.” As for her mom, Reyes said it is very important for her that she has her mom’s blessings with regard to her relationship. “Natutuwa ako kasi 'yung mommy ko, masaya para sa akin. Ito ang kauna-unahang relasyon na parang lahat ng tao positive, lahat happy. Ito 'yung first time na parang lahat kino-congratulate ako. Masaya,” she said. Asked how serious she is in this relationship, Reyes said: “Hindi ako pumapasok sa isang relasyon na walang patutunguhan. Gusto ko pag pumasok ako sa relasyon na iyon, iniisip ko na 'yung future ko with sa taong iyon. Hindi ako papasok sa isang relasyon kasi gusto ko lang magkaroon ng boyfriend.” Reyes said it is an important factor that they have a “genuine friendship” which provides a strong foundation for their relationship.

Cristine speaks up about Rayver's new rumored romance

MANILA – Actress Cristine Reyes said she has asked her former boyfriend, Rayver Cruz, about his rumored girlfriend. This after it was rumored that Cruz is dating Binibining Pilipinas 2013 semi-finalist Imee Schweighart. Photos of them appearing sweet to each other recently went viral online. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Reyes said Cruz did not confirm or deny the rumor. “Nabalitaan ko nga iyon. Hindi naman niya nakukuwento sa akin. Kapag tinatanong ko naman siya, hindi niya nakukuwento,” she said. The actress then asked the public to respect the private life of her former boyfriend. “Para sa akin, kung gusto niya ng pribado, siyempre hindi na ako para mag-usisa. Hayaan na lang natin sila,” she said. Dating Dennis again? Meanwhile, Reyes denied that she and actor Dennis Trillo are back in each other’s arms. “Talagang ganun lang ang bond namin ng family niya and kami ni Dennis. Ganun namin tine-treasure 'yung naging relasyon namin na naging mahirap pakawalan. Nakakasama ko 'yung family niya, 'yung sisters niya. Si Dennis hindi, pero nakakausap ko rin siya minsan,” she explained. Asked if she is still open to reconciling with Trillo, the actress said: “Bata pa po ako so ayaw ko magsalita nang tapos. Hindi naman natin masasabi eh. Ayaw ko rin mag-close ng door. Si Dennis, special siya sa akin, at mananatili siyang special sa akin.” “Ako kasi lahat ng tao na dumating sa buhay ko lalo na kapag na-touch yung heart ko, hindi siya madaling kalimutan. Marunong naman ako tumanaw ng mga pinagsamahan,” she added. However, the actress said she currently has no time for love. “Sobrang busy. Right now may shooting ako with Gabby Concepcion,' yung ‘When the Love is Gone’ and another movie with Anne (Curtis) and Sam (Milby) na ‘Gifted’ and this film with Derek (Ramsay), Heart (Evangelista) and John Estrada, and teleserye with Gerald (Anderson) and another film with direk Wenn (Deramas),” she said. Due to her hectic schedule, Reyes said she now considers her work and the gym her “boyfriends.”

Ara Mina confirms reconciliation with Cristine Reyes

Ara on suing Cristine: It was tough love

MANILA – Actress Ara Mina said it was tough for her to sue her sister Cristine Reyes for libel, but she said it was needed in order for the latter to learn her lesson. "Hindi ako nagsisisi sa ginawa kong pagdemanda noon. Parang tough love. Minsan kailangan mong tiisin ang mahal mo sa buhay para matuto lang," Mina said in an interview aired on "Showbiz Inside Report" on Saturday. Mina and Reyes finally reconciled last month, ending a year-long feud. "Holy week nangyari ang pagbabati namin. Holy week din nangyari ang away namin, so 1 year. Easter Sunday we decided na i-surprise namin ang mommy ko," she said. In April last year, Mina filed charges of libel and grave coercion against Reyes before a Quezon City court. The legal feud stems from an alleged dispute over the remaining balance for a house they bought for their mother. Since news of the court battle erupted, both actresses went on record, time and again, to air their side on the issue, with Reyes apologizing to Mina, and the latter expressing doubts on her sister' sincerity. This time, however, Mina said she is not doubting Reyes' sincerity, even defending the latter from critics. "Alam ko merong mga 'di naniniwala na sincere si Cristine. Ako na po ang nagsasabi sa inyo, totoo po," she said.

Ara Mina, Cristine Reyes make up for lost time

MANILA, Philippines -- Ara Mina expressed joy over her reconciliation with sister Cristine Reyes, after a year of estrangement over a private spat that escalated into a court battle. In a statement, the 33-year-old former sexy star confirmed that she has indeed reconciled with Reyes, after photos of them together were posted online early this week. She appealed, however, to be given "quiet time" with the 24-year-old Kapamilya actress to make up for lost time. "It is true na nagkabati na kami ng sister ko. Gusto ko muna ng quiet time with my family at samantalahin ang pagkakataon na ito," Mina said. "We want to enjoy this moment para naman po maka-catch up kami sa mga panahon na nawala sa amin," she said. In her official Instagram account on Monday, Reyes posted a photo of her and Mina hugging each other. Her caption says: “With the gift of listening comes the gift of healing.” Mina also posted a different version of the picture with the caption: “Just like the rainbow after the rain. A good thing will always happen after you experience the pain.” In Reyes’ succeeding posts, it can be seen that the reunion of the previously estranged sisters happened during a family gathering attended by their relatives. In April last year, Mina filed charges of libel and grave coercion against Reyes before a Quezon City court. Since news of the court battle erupted, both actresses went on record, time and again, to air their side on the issue, with Reyes apologizing to Mina, and the latter expressing doubts on her sister' sincerity. In her statement released this week on the subject of their reconciliation, Mina said, "Thank you po sa mga nagdasal para sa amin ng kapatid ko na maayos. God is good."

Cristine Reyes, Ara Mina patch things up

MANILA – All's well that ends well for celebrity sisters Ara Mina and Cristine Reyes, who after months of misunderstanding, have finally patched things up. It would be recalled that Reyes allegedly asked Mina to turn over an SUV as payment for the remaining P1.8-million balance for a Quezon City townhouse they bought in 2011 for their mother. If not, Reyes allegedly threatened that she will continue her personal attacks against Mina. Then in April last year, Mina filed charges of libel and grave coercion against her younger sister not to claim money but to “teach her a lesson” for her attitude. Mina earlier demanded through her counter-affidavit that Reyes issue a public apology for her to retract the case. Reyes have already said sorry since then, but Mina refused to accept the apology saying she found it insincere.

Cristine Reyes to do comedy movie with Zanjoe

MANILA – Doing comedy is no longer new for Cristine Reyes. Nonetheless, the actress revealed she is very excited to do a comedy movie with actor Zanjoe Marudo this year. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Reyes said she and Marudo will be working on “Bromance,” a comedy under the direction of Wenn Deramas. “Para sa akin, masaya kasi light lang siya and puro kalokohan lang kami sa set. Kung ano 'yung mapapanood niyo, ‘yun na ‘yun talaga. Minsan hindi na kami masyado nagsi-stick sa script, kumbaga kung ano 'yung lumabas, adlib, kung ano ‘yung nakakatawa,” she said. Having been part of the Kapamilya gag-show “Banana Split” in the past, Reyes said she no longer feels uneasy working with Marudo, who is also part of the show. “Wala na [akong ilang], very comfortable na ako with Zanjoe. Pero first time ko nakasama si Direk Wenn so medyo nangangapa pa ako. Super fun naman si Direk Wenn sa set eh. He’s very kind and cool pero authoritative pa rin. I’m happy na finally nakasama ko si Direk Wenn,” she said. Meanwhile, aside from “Bromance,” Reyes’ fans could also expect the actress on a primetime television series soon. She will be part of “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” which also features Gerald Anderson, Dawn Zulueta, Rayver Cruz and Dina Bonevie. “Wala pang play date. Pine-preview pa nila kung kailan lalabas. [Pero I’ll be part of] ‘Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,’” she said. Reyes renewed her contract with ABS-CBN just last month. "One year and five months or six months 'yung sinign ko na contract. I think more than three years na [ako with ABS-CBN]. Super enjoying and super love ko talaga dito sa ABS-CBN," she said. "Alam mo 'yun, sobrang naalagaan lahat ng artista, lahat ng mga veterans and kaming mga young ones," Reyes added. Cristine Reyes to do 9 'love scenes' in new film

MANILA -- Cristine Reyes is taking on the challenge of doing several "love scenes" in an upcoming sexy film. The 24-year-old actress will appear in nine "love scenes" with actor Gabby Concepcion in a big-screen remake of the 1983 film "Nagalit ang Buwan sa Haba ng Gabi," according to the project's director Andoy Ranay. "Mayroon sila ditong nine love scenes na hindi ko pa nasisimulan, with Gabby. Sila lang dalawa, so sabi ko nga sa kanila, 'Pa-ready nalang ha. Kailangan ready,'" Ranay told ABS-CBN News at the sidelines of the project's filming on Thursday. In a separate interview, Reyes said that although she is overwhelmed at the prospect, she trusts in Ranay and the professionalism of her onscreen partners. "Naloloka ako kasi... Pero okay lang, go, fight, fight! Trabaho naman 'yan eh, and tiwala ako kay Direk Andoy Ranay, and hello, Sir Gabby Concepcion naman ang ka-eksena ko 'di ba," she said. "I'm very sure very gentleman si Sir Gabby and si Jake (Cuenca) din as well," she said. Asked on her limitations when it comes to doing "love scenes" on the big screen, Reyes said, "Siyempre kung ano lang 'yung pwede ipakita namin, kasi kung hindi naman namin maipapalabas, ba't pa namin gagawin?" No more sexy outfits However, on stage, the actress said she now prefers to wear less revealing outfits, in light of feedback to a sexy number she performed on the concert variety program "ASAP" in February. The dance number had Reyes in a red fringe dress performing with male dancers inside a boxing ring. "Nagtatampo nga ako kasi ba't pag ako ang gumagawa, laging may issue. Bakit pag sina Kim Chiu at Maja (Salvador) hindi niyo sinisita? Pag ako sinisita niyo," she said in jest. Following a controversial performance of actress Anne Curtis in the same program last month, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) required the staff of the show to attend a gender-sensitivity seminar. The government agency also reminded "ASAP" to regulate themes and outfits worn by the perfomers on the program. Of the recent move, Reyes said, laughing, "Pabor ako diyan, kasi lagi ko sinasabihan 'yung stylist ko, 'Please naman 'wag na kita tiyan, balutin mo naman ako, kasi palagi nalang ba kailangan requirement ko tangga, lagi nalang ba kailangan naka-shorts?'" She said this is the reason why during her recent appearances on "ASAP," where she performs twice a month, she can be seen wearing more conservative outfits.
