MANILA – Derek Ramsay did not hesitate to defend his former girlfriend, Cristine Reyes, against those who are linking the actress to various men following their breakup.
Speaking to “Buzz ng Bayan,” Ramsay said it is unfair that Reyes is being depicted as that kind of girl.
“It’s not fair for Cristine that she’s getting all this negative stuff. Cristine is not that type of girl. I would know because I’m her best friend. Hindi siya ganoon so sana matigilan na 'yung mga paninira, mga rumors na nakakasakit sa kanya, sa akin,” he said.
While they have decided to end their month-long relationship, Ramsay said he still cares for Reyes because she remains his best friend.
At the same time, Ramsay denied that they got back together after their series of shows in Hawaii.
“Everyone says we were there for vacation and that we got back together. Cristine and I were there for work. We were in Hawaii. We were mature enough to let our friendship take over and that’s where we stand right now,” he said.
Ramsay and Reyes became close friends after working together in the 2011 movie “No Other Woman,” which also starred Anne Curtis.
It was in August 28 when they officially became a couple but they took everyone by surprise when they confirmed their breakup on October 7.
Despite this, the two reportedly maintain a good relationship.
