Kris Aquino is seeking a temporary protection order (TPO) against her ex-husband, basketball star James Yap, whom she accused of making “overt sexual advances” during a recent visit, thus traumatizing their son James Jr. or Bimby.
The actress-TV host filed the petition in Makati City where she and her two sons live in a condominium unit.
According to a report by Rina Jimenez David for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the TPO will be good for 30 days if granted, but Kris also wants the order to be made permanent.
She has asked the court to order James to keep away from her and Bimby, and bar him from visiting her house, her place of work, Bimby’s school and any place frequented by her and Bimby.
According to her petition, James entered her bedroom during a visit last December to pick up Bimby as part of his twice-a-week visitation rights, and “acted as if he was still entitled to his matrimonial rights” in full view of their son.
And when she rejected him flatly, she alleged that he responded with “mean and malicious statements”, forcing Bimby to tell James to “stop hurting” Kris and leave.
Kris and James married in 2005 and separated in June 2010. Their marriage was officially annulled early last year. The settlement came with a division of several properties and the payment of a hefty amount to James, which Kris announced in a recent tweet.
