Dolphy grandson arrested for marijuana possession

A grandson and namesake of the late comedy king Dolphy was arrested on Tuesday by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during the implementation of a search warrant in Laguna, PDEA said in a statement. PDEA director general undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the arrested suspect as Rodolfo Quizon III, 29 years old, a businessman and resident of Barangay Palasan, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Quizon, nicknamed Thirdy, is one of the six children of Dolphy Jr. — the first namesake of the late comedian who became a born-again Christian pastor after struggling with drug addiction in his youth and being incarcerated for arson from 1991 to 1998. Operatives of PDEA Regional Office 4A (PDEA RO4A) under Director Jeffrey Bangsa served the search warrant against Quizon inside his residence in Barangay Palasan on Tuesday. The statement said that eight grams of marijuana and 16 tablets of valium, a regulated drug, and various drug paraphernalia were recovered inside the house. Jayar Salac, 28 years old, who was present inside the house during the operation, was also arrested. Quizon and Salac are now facing charges for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
