LOOK: Alex spoofs Toni as 'Bangs of the Philippines'

MANILA -- Alex Gonzaga drew laughter when she emerged as "Boney Gonzaga," a spoof character of her older sister and "The Voice of the Philippines" co-host Toni, during a weekend special aired as part of the celebration of 60 years of Philippine television. Wearing artificial bangs, Alex introduced herself as "The Bangs of the Philippines," or the host of a reality contest called "The Poise." She went on to introduce a "Rattle Round" -- inspired by "The Voice's" battles phase -- featuring Myk Perez, a finalist on the actual talent search; and KZ Tandingan, the first winner of "The X Factor Philippines." Alex's persona as "Boney," which caught Toni by surprise, is a spoof of the latter's Twitter-trending hairstyle as seen in one of the semifinals episodes of "The Voice of the Philippines." The segment featuring "Boney" and Tandingan and Perez's duet was aired Saturday night during the TV special "Kanta Natin 'To: A Celebration of 60 Years of Music," which gathered on stage several music stars including victors of ABS-CBN contests.

Alex Gonzaga admits Toni Gonzaga is stricter on her than their Mommy Pinty

After being welcomed back to the Kapamilya network, Alex Gonzaga said she felt lucky to be part of The Voice of the Philippines.Alex said it is sad that some people think she only got the gig because her big sister Toni included her as a package deal. (laughs) Talagang sobrang saya ko,” she recalled. The 25-year-old host-actress said her sister is her number one critic on the set. Currently single right now, Alex said her sister also appraises guys who want to court her. But Alex herself admitted she would rather focus on her career than have a serious relationship this year. “Parang concentrate muna ako sa aking trabaho. May dini-date ako pero as of now, nothing serious, walang commitment. If ever she was to have a boyfriend, Alex said her family prefers she date a non-showbiz guy. “Ang gusto talaga ng aking family especially my sister, is non-showbiz kasi parang iba naman sa mundo namin and at the same time para breath of fresh air sa mga ginagawa mo,” she explained. When asked if she wants her sister to walk down the aisle already with longtime boyfriend Paul Soriano, Alex said she has mixed feelings about it.

Alex: Nothing wrong with working with sister Toni

MANILA, Philippines - Actress Alex Gonzaga said she sees nothing wrong with working with her sister, Toni Gonzaga, for ABS-CBN's "The Voice of the Philippines." Alex recently returned to the Kapamilya network to help her sister in hosting the upcoming singing competition. She said working with Toni would even be better for her since she'd get to save on food expenses. Alex admitted, however, that she feels the pressure of working alongside Toni, who is one of the biggest stars of ABS-CBN at the moment. But she is happy that her sister has been very supportive of her. Aside from "The Voice of the Philippines," Alex is also part of the gag show "Banana Nite." She is also set to do a series on ABS-CBN.
