'GGV' marks 'highest rating ever' with 100th episode

The May 5 telecast of "Gandang Gabi Vice" was the second most watched program of the day, trailing the reality talent search "Pilipinas Got Talent," with a national TV rating of 23.7% and 24.5%, respectively, according to data from multinational market research group Kantar Media. The Sunday night talk show, which started airing in May 2011, featured as guests celebrity sisters Toni and Alex Gonzaga. According to Vice Ganda, in his official account on micro-blogging site Twitter, the special episode marked the "highest rating ever" of "Gandang Gabi Vice." Since its debut, the comedy talk show has included new segments, in addition to the staple opening numbers performed by Vice Ganda, and his candid interviews with celebrity guests. As of its latest season, "Gandang Gabi Vice" now features a "Wish Upon a Horse" segment, wherein Vice Ganda grants unusual requests from his Twitter followers, such as having him as an escort to a ball, or tapping him as a godfather at a baptism. Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
