Dingdong Dantes hits career 'crossroads'

MANILA, Philippines -- Dingdong Dantes said he is praying for discernment in relation to his next big career move, amid speculations that he is set to switch networks. The 32-year-old actor, who is a prized leading man of GMA-7, said he is considering several factors in deciding which path to take as he faces a "crossroad" in his career. Dantes' contract as a talent of his home network will expire in December. Despite being identified with GMA-7, he has appeared in a number of ABS-CBN projects, the most recent being the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture, "One More Try." "In all my decisions naman, I pray hard for them and consult my family, so at the end of the day, kung ano 'yung para sa akin, para sa ikabubuti ko at ikabubuti ng mga taong minamahal ko," he told ABS-CBN News at the sidelines of the recent outdoor concert event Ginuman Fest 2013. He added: "[We continue to work] for us to improve ourselves and to improve other people's lives." Meanwhile, Dantes was also asked for his reaction on the recent exchange of pleasantries between his current partner and former girlfriend -- actress Marian Rivera and singer Karylle, respectively. After three years of being a couple, Dantes and Karylle broke up in September 2008, amid rumors linking the actor to Rivera, his new leading lady at the time. "That's very good news," Dantes said of the chance encounter between Rivera and Karylle, who is now in a relationship with singer Yael Yuzon. "Peace all the way, para sa akin," the actor added. "To begin with, wala namang problema. Wala namang dapat i-celebrate na hindi maganda, so let's always celebrate happines, love and peace."
