Gerald Anderson said that he could not wait for his upcoming teleserye, Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin to start airing. “Tuloy-tuloy po ang taping namin tapos sobrang excited na rin kami. Excited kami [sa] show na ito na mapalabas para mapanood ng mga tao kasi iba naman siya, iba siya sa Budoy,” said Gerald, in reference to his previous teleserye.
When asked about working again with Dawn Zulueta in the said teleserye (the two worked together in the movie Catch Me… I’m In Love in 2011), the actor said about the seasoned actress, “Sobrang bait, sobrang swerte namin na si Miss Dawn ang nakasama namin sa cast namin.”
He acknowledged that the start of the year has been quite a bumpy ride, what with controversies like his romantic involvement with Maja Salvador who used to be the best friend of his ex-partner Kim Chiu and his failed courtship of Sarah Geronimo.
“There’s always a rainbow after the storm,” answered Gerald when asked if he is ready to face a challenging year. “Kailangan lang maging positive. Siyempre kasama talaga ‘yan, eh. Kung di ka magiging strong, dun magiging mahirap, so you should stay strong.”
He continued that while difficulties are normal in one’s life, he said that they are also opportunities for a person to find out what he really is made of. “Tulad ng sinabi ko dati, dun natin malalaman kung sino talaga tayo. Hindi sa panahon na successful tayo o nasa taas tayo, kundi dun sa mga panahon na marami tayong problema. May mga pinagdadaanan tayo pero I’m very happy right now,” he said.
Gerald, who celebrated his birthday last March 7, said that he couldn’t wish for anything more for himself. “Sobrang selfish ko naman kung magwi-wish pa ako sa sarili ko. Wish ko na lang happiness na lang para sa lahat.”
Gerald was also asked for his comment regarding the recent exchange of hugs between Sarah and Kim, who were both present at the finals night of Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last February 24. “Hahaba pa ‘yan kapag may sinabi ako. Tulad ng birthday wish ko, happiness sa lahat,” he said.
Prodded if there is still anything missing in his life, Gerald said, “Siyempre, wala namang buhay na kumpleto, di ba? Pwede tayong maging kuntento at masaya kung ano’ng meron tayo ngayon, pero syempre sa ngayon, bata pa naman ako, andami ko pang gustong gawin.”
When he was told by a reporter that he is the type who is generous to someone special to him, he replied that that is how it should be when someone has a lot of blessings. “Shina-shower ako ni Papa God ng maraming blessings, gusto ko rin gawin ‘yon para sa mga malalapit sa akin,” he answered.
He was teased about the recent Valentine gift that he gave to Maja when he rented a helicopter that took him and the actress to a luxurious restaurant in Tagaytay, but Gerald’s response only consisted of a smile, and said that he is happy now with his life.
