MANILA – Alex Gonzaga will finally have her first acting stint on ABS-CBN months after she returned to the network and sealed a new deal as a Kapamilya talent.
In the newest episode of the drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” to be aired this Saturday, Gonzaga will play the role of Pinky, who had to put up with the maltreatment of her cousin, Rene (Dimples Romana).
Pinky, an adopted daughter, had to endure her cousin’s cruelty because she wants to finish her studies with the help of her foster family.
The episode will then see Gonzaga’s character eventually transforming into a strong-willed woman, determined to be successful so she could one day get back at her cousin.
Joining Gonzaga in the “MMK” episode are Romana, Maila Gumila, Lito Pimintel, Daisy Reyes, Alan Paule, Guji Lorenzana and Slater Young.
Aside from an “MMK” episode, Gonzaga is also set to do a series on ABS-CBN. She currently appears on “Banana Nite” and “The Voice of the Philippines” as one of the hosts.
"Exciting talaga, and happy talaga ako kasi lahat ng pwede kong magawa ay nabigyan ako ng chance," she said.
“Siyempre I’m looking forward na makatrabaho lahat ng Kapamilya artists, lahat talaga. Siyempre gusto ko mag-guest sa iba’t ibang shows na pinapanood ko lang noon. I’m really happy na may trabaho ako at winelcome ako ng ABS-CBN ulit,” she added.
Gonzaga launched her showbiz career in 2006 with the sitcom "Let's Go" on ABS-CBN. She also appeared in the primetime series "My Girl" before leaving the Kapamilya network in 2008 for the No. 3 network TV5.
