JC de Vera had nothing but good words for Vice Ganda, his co-star in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy. “Ako with Vice, very grateful ako, wala akong ibang masasabi sa kanya. Very professional tapos very accommodating at hindi ako nakaramdam ng pressure sa kanya kasi parang ang gaan-gaan ng trabaho pag siya ‘yung kasama,” he relayed in an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph. In a separate interview, Vice revealed that he personally requested JC to be one of his leading men in the movie. JC said he is truly grateful to the comedian to have been given such a big opportunity. “’Yun nga sa pagkakuha niya sa akin, ako very thankful ako dahil bihira ‘yun kay Vice eh. Nasabi nga nila na nagre-request daw ng ganon so ako grabe blessed ako na ganon si Vice sa akin and in return kung ano ‘yung kailangan niyang trabaho sa akin ‘yun ang ibibigay ko,” JC stated. The upcoming The Legal Wife actor relayed that this movie is far from anything that he’s done before. It’s also his first comedy film. “’Yung funny side ko [makikita niyo dito] and it’s my first movie with Star [Cinema] tapos comedy pa siya so mas jolly, mas lighter side ko ang makikita nila, relaxed na acting lang.” On the character that he’s portraying, the actor shared that he will be playing one of Vice Ganda’s love interests in the movie. “Although hindi naman talaga malaking-malaki ‘yung character ko dito pero magmamarka siya kasi parang boyfriend ako ng isang character ni Vice kaya first time ko rin gagawin ‘yun and ‘yun actually bago lang din ‘to sa akin, bagong experience lang,” he said. JC hopes that Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy will score big at the box-office. “Sana mag-hit talaga kasi maswerte ako na mag-hit kasi first film ko sa Star [Cinema] at nasama pa ako sa ganitong kagandang film,” he remarked.

JC de Vera excited to work with Echo, Maja, Angel

MANILA – JC de Vera said he feels nervous as he takes on his first teleserye role on ABS-CBN via the upcoming soap "The Legal Wife." “I am very nervous. As in sobrang scared, pero this is it. Ito na, ito na ang start ng aking journey dito sa ABS-CBN. So I’m blessed,” he said in an interview with the entertainment website Push.com.ph. “First time kong makasama itong mga ganitong klaseng artista. Until now, ako’y overwhelmed pa rin at ‘yun nga, very nervous pa rin kasi hindi ko alam kung gaano kagagaling itong mga ito,’ he added. Despite this, de Vera said he is hoping to build a good working relationship with his "The Legal Wife" co-stars, Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador. “I’m hoping na marami silang maitulong sa akin pagdating sa acting. And happy ako na nakasali ako sa kanila kasi nga magandang experience itong unang show na gagawin ko, kaya very blessed talaga,” he said. Asked what his role in the series would be, the actor said: “Isa akong boy na longing for love ng mga tao pero hindi ako rebelde, hindi rin ako masamang bata. Naghahanap ka lang ng love from your family, from someone else.” He said that’s where the journey of his character picks up, eventually leading him to meet the characters played by Locsin and Salvador. De Vera said he is glad that his supporters will finally see him on television – this time, at his new home. “Ako naman ang gusto ko lang talaga is to work. At maybe hindi ako naging visible for a couple of times pero wala eh, nandito na ako ngayon eh. Mapapanood naman nila ako, slowly. Makikita nila ako dito sa ABS-CBN,” he said. The actor said it makes his him feel appreciated that his supporters still rally behind him even after deciding to shift networks. “Masaya ako na inaabangan nila ako, gusto ko lang sanang maibalik sa kanila, na huwag silang mag-alala kasi aayusin ko naman talaga ‘yung work ko dito,” he said.

JC de Vera admits to being pressured over “The Legal Wife”

With anticipation reaching its all-time high among his fans now that his ABS-CBN debut soap “The Legal Wife” is set to air soon, actor JC de Vera himself couldn’t mask the overcoming anxiety over the obviously high expectations from him. Three months since he transferred to the Kapamilya network, JC has yet to go on a full throttle performance as far as soap operas are concerned and now that he’s set to be part of the Primetime Bida with no less than few of the best Kapamilya stars as his co-actors, the hunk actor is nothing but “scared.” “I am very nervous. As in sobrang scared pero this is it. Ito na, ito na ang start ng aking journey dito sa ABS-CBN. So I’m blessed,” said he during an interview with Push.com.ph at the recently-concluded promo shoot of his upcoming soap. Is he pressured knowing that he will be sharing the camera with the likes of Jericho Rosales, Angel Locsin and Maja Salvador? “Sobra. First time kong makasama itong mga ganitong klaseng artista until now ako’y overwhelmed parin at ‘yun nga very nervous parin kasi hindi ko alam kung gaano kagagaling itong mga ito,’ he revealed. But, he remains hopeful that he would be able to sow a good working relationship with the other Kapamilya stars. “I’m hoping na marami silang maitulong sa akin pagdating sa acting and happy ako na nakasali ako sakanila kasi nga magandang experience itong unang show na gagawin ko kaya very blessed talaga,” he continued. According to the 27-year-old actor, he would be taking on the role of a “boy” named Max on the upcoming soap. “Isa akong boy na longing for love ng mga tao pero hindi ako rebelde, hindi rin ako masamang bata. Naghahanap ka lang ng love from your family, from someone else. Tapos doon na mag-start ‘yung journey ko at doon ko rin makikilala si Maja at doon ko narin makikilala si Angel,” he shared, even adding that, “It’s a wonderful love story na kasama ‘yung apat na tao.” In a previous Push.com.ph report, recall that Jericho dished out that the soap would be revolving about what a man who’s in a relationship, should and should not do. Since he would be taking on the role of a boy, JC geared up for it by putting on some weight, saying that “May tummy nako, medyo Malaki na. nag-gain ako ng konting weight para magmukhang boy at hindi manly.” At this point JC was asked if he was even remotely aware how eager his fans are to see him to finally do a soap at the Kapamilya network, an issue which he addressed shyly with his signature sheepish smile, “Hindi ko alam, pinapanerbyos lang nila ako eh.” Then he continued, “Hindi kasi ako naman ang gusto ko lang talaga is to work at maybe hindi ako naging visible for a couple of times pero wala eh nandito nako ngayon eh. Mapapanood naman nila ako, slowly. Na makikita nila ako dito sa ABS-CBN. Masaya ako na inaabangan nila ako, gusto ko lang sanang maibalik sakanila na ‘wag silang mag-alala kasi aayusin ko naman talaga ‘yung work ko dito.” So does that mean that he won’t have any time for love as of the moment? “Siguro sa ngayon ‘wag na muna. ‘Di ko na muna iisipin ‘yun kasi ito ‘yung inaantay ko eh. Buong buhay ko eh kaya kailangan lahat ng focus ko mapunta muna sana dito. Makakapaghintay ‘yon, tsaka andami dami nila dito eh,” he reasoned laughingly

JC de Vera denies row with Paulo Avelino

MANILA – Actor JC de Vera denied that he and fellow Kapamulya actor Paulo Avelino are not in good terms after it was reported that he is dating actress LJ Reyes, the mother of Avelino’s child. In an interview with entertainment site Pep.ph after the Cosmo Bachelor Bash on Tuesday, de Vera said commenting about the matter will only add fuel to the fire, which should not have been there in the first place. "Hindi naman kami magkaaway," he briefly said. "This time lang ako sasagot. ‘Di ko papatulan ['yung issue]. Wala akong dapat sagutin." De Vera said he and Reyes are just friends even though he had admitted in the past that they have gone out a couple of times with a larger group. In a preview interview with ABS-CBN News, Avelino shrugged off reports romantically linking his former girlfriend to the new Kapamilya actor. Avelino said he doesn't see anything wrong if indeed Reyes and de Vera are dating. “Ako, hindi ko alam. Siguro mas okay kung tanungin ninyo na lang sila. Pero sa akin, wala, wala naman. Happy, happy naman daw ang lahat,” he said. Avelino joined the Kapamilya network in 2011, while de Vera just inked a deal with ABS-CBN last July.

JC de Vera now a Kapamilya

MANILA – Actor JC de Vera is now officially a Kapamilya. On Monday, the 27-year-old actor signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN, which includes a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode and a television series which will begin in August. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, de Vera said joining the roster of Kapamilya talents is a dream come true. “Lahat ito surprise, ‘yung paglipat ko. Start from zero. Wala akong kilala talaga. Very overwhelming ito and thankful ako sa lahat ng nag-welcome sa akin,” he said. According to de Vera, he will always be grateful to his former talent manager, Annabelle Rama, but he also needs to “grow and move forward.” “Maayos naman ang turnover, walang bad blood kay Tita Annabelle Rama and thankful ako sa kanya,” he said. De Vera joined showbiz in 2003. He rose to fame after he was cast in the youth-oriented show “Click” of GMA-7 where he was then paired with Valerie Concepcion. He then earned supporting and lead roles as network executives saw a potential in him as an actor. In 2010, de Vera left GMA-7 and moved to TV5. -- from a report by Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News
