MANILA – Actor JC de Vera is now officially a Kapamilya.
On Monday, the 27-year-old actor signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN, which includes a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode and a television series which will begin in August.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, de Vera said joining the roster of Kapamilya talents is a dream come true.
“Lahat ito surprise, ‘yung paglipat ko. Start from zero. Wala akong kilala talaga. Very overwhelming ito and thankful ako sa lahat ng nag-welcome sa akin,” he said.
According to de Vera, he will always be grateful to his former talent manager, Annabelle Rama, but he also needs to “grow and move forward.”
“Maayos naman ang turnover, walang bad blood kay Tita Annabelle Rama and thankful ako sa kanya,” he said.
De Vera joined showbiz in 2003. He rose to fame after he was cast in the youth-oriented show “Click” of GMA-7 where he was then paired with Valerie Concepcion.
He then earned supporting and lead roles as network executives saw a potential in him as an actor.
In 2010, de Vera left GMA-7 and moved to TV5. -- from a report by Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News
