With anticipation reaching its all-time high among his fans now that his ABS-CBN debut soap “The Legal Wife” is set to air soon, actor JC de Vera himself couldn’t mask the overcoming anxiety over the obviously high expectations from him.
Three months since he transferred to the Kapamilya network, JC has yet to go on a full throttle performance as far as soap operas are concerned and now that he’s set to be part of the Primetime Bida with no less than few of the best Kapamilya stars as his co-actors, the hunk actor is nothing but “scared.”
“I am very nervous. As in sobrang scared pero this is it. Ito na, ito na ang start ng aking journey dito sa ABS-CBN. So I’m blessed,” said he during an interview with Push.com.ph at the recently-concluded promo shoot of his upcoming soap.
Is he pressured knowing that he will be sharing the camera with the likes of Jericho Rosales, Angel Locsin and Maja Salvador?
“Sobra. First time kong makasama itong mga ganitong klaseng artista until now ako’y overwhelmed parin at ‘yun nga very nervous parin kasi hindi ko alam kung gaano kagagaling itong mga ito,’ he revealed.
But, he remains hopeful that he would be able to sow a good working relationship with the other Kapamilya stars.
“I’m hoping na marami silang maitulong sa akin pagdating sa acting and happy ako na nakasali ako sakanila kasi nga magandang experience itong unang show na gagawin ko kaya very blessed talaga,” he continued.
According to the 27-year-old actor, he would be taking on the role of a “boy” named Max on the upcoming soap.
“Isa akong boy na longing for love ng mga tao pero hindi ako rebelde, hindi rin ako masamang bata. Naghahanap ka lang ng love from your family, from someone else. Tapos doon na mag-start ‘yung journey ko at doon ko rin makikilala si Maja at doon ko narin makikilala si Angel,” he shared, even adding that, “It’s a wonderful love story na kasama ‘yung apat na tao.”
In a previous Push.com.ph report, recall that Jericho dished out that the soap would be revolving about what a man who’s in a relationship, should and should not do.
Since he would be taking on the role of a boy, JC geared up for it by putting on some weight, saying that “May tummy nako, medyo Malaki na. nag-gain ako ng konting weight para magmukhang boy at hindi manly.”
At this point JC was asked if he was even remotely aware how eager his fans are to see him to finally do a soap at the Kapamilya network, an issue which he addressed shyly with his signature sheepish smile, “Hindi ko alam, pinapanerbyos lang nila ako eh.”
Then he continued, “Hindi kasi ako naman ang gusto ko lang talaga is to work at maybe hindi ako naging visible for a couple of times pero wala eh nandito nako ngayon eh. Mapapanood naman nila ako, slowly. Na makikita nila ako dito sa ABS-CBN. Masaya ako na inaabangan nila ako, gusto ko lang sanang maibalik sakanila na ‘wag silang mag-alala kasi aayusin ko naman talaga ‘yung work ko dito.”
So does that mean that he won’t have any time for love as of the moment?
“Siguro sa ngayon ‘wag na muna. ‘Di ko na muna iisipin ‘yun kasi ito ‘yung inaantay ko eh. Buong buhay ko eh kaya kailangan lahat ng focus ko mapunta muna sana dito. Makakapaghintay ‘yon, tsaka andami dami nila dito eh,” he reasoned laughingly
