JC de Vera had nothing but good words for Vice Ganda, his co-star in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy. “Ako with Vice, very grateful ako, wala akong ibang masasabi sa kanya. Very professional tapos very accommodating at hindi ako nakaramdam ng pressure sa kanya kasi parang ang gaan-gaan ng trabaho pag siya ‘yung kasama,” he relayed in an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph.
In a separate interview, Vice revealed that he personally requested JC to be one of his leading men in the movie. JC said he is truly grateful to the comedian to have been given such a big opportunity. “’Yun nga sa pagkakuha niya sa akin, ako very thankful ako dahil bihira ‘yun kay Vice eh. Nasabi nga nila na nagre-request daw ng ganon so ako grabe blessed ako na ganon si Vice sa akin and in return kung ano ‘yung kailangan niyang trabaho sa akin ‘yun ang ibibigay ko,” JC stated.
The upcoming The Legal Wife actor relayed that this movie is far from anything that he’s done before. It’s also his first comedy film. “’Yung funny side ko [makikita niyo dito] and it’s my first movie with Star [Cinema] tapos comedy pa siya so mas jolly, mas lighter side ko ang makikita nila, relaxed na acting lang.”
On the character that he’s portraying, the actor shared that he will be playing one of Vice Ganda’s love interests in the movie. “Although hindi naman talaga malaking-malaki ‘yung character ko dito pero magmamarka siya kasi parang boyfriend ako ng isang character ni Vice kaya first time ko rin gagawin ‘yun and ‘yun actually bago lang din ‘to sa akin, bagong experience lang,” he said.
JC hopes that Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy will score big at the box-office. “Sana mag-hit talaga kasi maswerte ako na mag-hit kasi first film ko sa Star [Cinema] at nasama pa ako sa ganitong kagandang film,” he remarked.
