Ruffa won't say if she's back as a Kapamilya

MANILA – Beauty queen-turned-actress Ruffa Gutierrez won’t confirm or deny whether she is part of the Kapamilya network again. This after Gutierrez has appeared in a number of ABS-CBN shows such as “It’s Showtime.” In an interview with ABS-CBN News at the sidelines of her pictorial for the movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” Gutierrez said she can’t give a straight answer to that question yet. “Mahirap sagutin ‘yan. Basta all the work that I am doing now is with ABS-CBN and basically, my heart never left naman. Ang pinakaimportante siguro diyan, imbes na sabihin mong Kapamilya, sabihin mo na lang katrabaho,” she said. Gutierrez said she will also be part of another Kapamilya show, but she can’t divulge any details about it until later this week. “Mayroon akong project that’s coming up, nakalaan for next year. We are making that big announcement on Thursday. Interviewhin niyo na lang ako ulit on Thursday,” she said jokingly. Meanwhile, Gutierrez expressed her excitement after working with comedian Vice Ganda in the abovementioned Metro Manila Film Festival entry. “First time ko siya makatrabaho sa pelikula. Nakasama ko siya dati sa mga interviews pero napakahusay niya. Ang galing ng timing niya sa comedy. Ang talino niyang aktor kasi mahirap magpatawa. Mas madaling magpaiyak and masasabi ko na 'yung tandem ni Derek Wenn Deramas and Vice Ganda, sobrang box office hit na ito,” she said. According to Gutierrez, she did not have a hard time doing the movie because her role fits her personality. “Walang challenges kasi talagang very natural, I’m really maarte. Walang breakdown scenes or yung mamamatay ako. I’m really at home na sa comedy. Kung may challenging siguro sa part na iyon, it’s just timing in terms of delivery and in terms of comedy,” she said. The former beauty queen also gave credit to Vice Ganda, who was “very generous” in their scenes together. “Nagbibigayan kami. Of course this is mainly Vice’s movie. Kapag kaeksena ko siya, nagbibigayan kami. Hindi naman siya 'yung tipong sasapawan ako or sasapawan ko siya. I think that’s the beauty of working with professional actors. We all have our different moments, our different highlights,” she said. Also featuring Maricel Soriano, “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” will be shown in theaters starting December 25.
