MANILA – Angelica Panganiban admitted she has yet to talk to Jason Francisco after the latter's supposed rift with Pooh, her co-star on "Banana Split." Francisco reportedly got upset after Pooh allegedly questioned his capacity to support his future wife, Melai Cantiveros, and their child. Cantiveros is also part of "Banana Split." In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday, Panganiban said Francisco probably misinterpreted Pooh’s intention when he said such statements. “Hindi ko nakakausap si Jason. Hindi ko rin alam ang number niya. Kung siguro minasama niya 'yung sinabi ng kaibigan ko, si Pooh, opinion iyon eh. Hindi kasi masama 'yung intention ni Pooh. Ang gustong sabihin ni Pooh and 'yung iba pang nagsabi noon, sobrang mahal namin si Melai,” she said. Known as one of Cantiveros’ close friends in showbiz, Panganiban defended Pooh saying the latter only wants the best for the comedienne. “Hindi naman siguro niya kinukuwestiyon. Buhay naman nila iyan. Labas na kami diyan,” she said. Asked if she will be attending Cantiveros and Francisco’s wedding in December, Panganiban briefly said: “Hindi. Hindi rin naman ako invited.” But she quickly added: “Wedding nila iyon. I-enjoy nila. Kapag wedding ko, ayaw ko rin ng may maririnig na masama ang loob sa akin.” The actress then wished the couple all the best as they tie the knot. “Gusto kong maging matagumpay sila sa larangan ng pag-ibig, ng pagbuo ng pamilya… Dapat magpaganda [si Melai], magpabongga siya. Once in a lifetime iyan so dapat siya ang pinakamagandang bride,” she said. Hindi ako tamad, ako’y masipag. Gagawin ko ang lahat para masuportahan ang aking pamilya,’” Abunda shared. In a past interview, Francisco and Cantiveros bared their plan to tie the knot in General Santos City in December this year. The two also vowed to make their relationship work. “Pangako ko na hindi ako magkaka-second wife. Kailangan lang lambingin mo rin ako kapag alam mong sobrang nauumay na ako sa iyo, kasi dumadating sa point na iyon eh. Mas magiging matiyaga ako,” Francisco said. “Pangako ko na I’ll always be here. As part of the new Primetime Bida series “Honesto,” Melai Cantiveros made her first public appearance after news of her pregnancy broke last month. In the series, Melai is paired with real-life fiancé Jason Francisco, who she recently signed a pre-nuptial agreement with her in preparation for their nuptials at the end of this year. “Yung kasal mga first week ng December. Si Kris Aquino ninang kasi part naman talaga ng aming pagbabalikan yung “KrisTV.” Sa mga abay kinuha namin yung mga sure talaga na pupunta, yung iba taga-Gen San (General Santos) eh so kung kukunin mo yung mga artista din baka hindi rin naman makakapunta. During the event, Melai admitted she is currently four months pregnant and adjusting to the situation, which is why she was not as visible on TV. “Nung first three months talagang nahihirapan ako, yung paglilihi, talagang magsusuka ka pero normal pala yun. Kapag four months ka parang yun yung when you’ll feel your best so parang okay na yung pakiramdam ko, hindi na naman ako nagsusuka na. Okay na yung aking katawan, parang ready to work. Pero si Jason lagi siyang andiyan talaga para sa akin. Hindi na siya gumagala. Sinasabi ko na kailangan ko talaga siya at saka kahit na inaaway ko siya, lagi siyang nandiyan (laughs),” she shares. Although news of her pregnancy came as a surprise to most of her friends, Melai says she and Jason had already planned to start a family after their reconciliation, which they chose not to announce to the public as well. “Oo naman, nasa calendar na, hindi lang naming sinasabi. Alangan naman sabihin naming sa TV na may plano na kami (laughs). Plinano namin kasi we love each other so much,” she reveals. After breaking up for almost a year, the 26-year-old actress says she has noticed positive changes in her soon-to-be husband. “Nung pagbabalikan namin, over-over naman talaga yung kanyang pagiging mature,” she adds. Melai also took the chance to defend Jason against their friends in showbiz who expressed doubt that he might not be able to support her financially once they get married. “Siyempre normal reaction yan ng kaibigan, pero siyempre parang nasaktan ka din kasi inu-underestimate nila. Kumbaga hindi mo rin sila ma-blame. Nung nagkabalikan kami hindi ko rin naman kinuwento sa kanila in full kung ano yung mga gusto naming kasi ayoko na rin naman na may mga komentong ganun ayoko na rin kasi siya yung makakasama ko habang buhay. Yung mga mangingisda nga nakakakain tatlong beses sa isang araw. Hindi naman dapat ika-ka-worry yan kasi lagi namang siyang nandiyan. Kung hindi kami bigyan ng work , maghahanap kami ng ibang puwedeng pagtrabahuan,” she explains. In “Honesto,” Melai admits she is happy to play the role of wife to Jason onscreen as well. “Ang role namin dito mag-asawa, kami si Mr. and Mrs. Batumbakal. Siya pulis siya tapos ako nagtratrabaho sa munisipyo tapos umiikot yung buhay namin kay Honesto.” Melai says she is also excited to be part of a Kapamilya show, which stars veteran actors Eddie Garcia, Angel Aquino, Paulo Avelino, Janice De Belen, Maricar Reyes, Melissa Ricks and Joseph Marco. “Siyempre sobrang excited ako. Kasi Primetime ito, pang-mayaman (laughs). Sobrang thankful kami kay (Business Unit Head) sir Deo Edrinal na naging part kami ng Honesto. When asked why it took him and Melai so long to admit that they reconciled, Jason said it was for practical reasons. “Sa totoo lang, nagbigay na ako ng hint noon eh. Sinabi ko kay Melai, ‘Ga, magpaparinig na ako sa kanila’ kasi nung time na yun buntis na siya. So binigyan ko kayo ng hint kasi baka maudlot pa. Mas maganda mas malakas na siya, kumakapit na,” he recalled. Jason said the decision to have a baby was a mutual one. “Kasi sa PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) pa naman, kung 25 na kami go na kaso nag-break kami ng isang taon. Hindi kasi alam ng tao na nagbalikan na kami. Sa bahay ko na nga sila nakatira na sobrang tagal, ilang months na halos a year din so hindi na lang naming ipinaalam na nagkabalikan na kami kasi kung may plano na kami, kasi di ba pag artista ka, mas maigi na malalaman nila in the future at least good news hindi yung pag-uusapan nila na nagkabalikan na naman kayo. Same questions, same answer. So ang maigi ito bago talaga, good news at new life na,” he admitted. Jason said starting their family was something he made sure Melai wanted to do despite having a busy career. “Siyempre tinanong ko siya kung gusto rin niya magka-baby na, hindi ko naman yan basta didiligan so ang inisip ko kung ready na siya, ready na ako tapos yung mga responsibitility niya sa parents niya medyo smooth na para ready na sa family namin. Sa totoo lang, unang una pinaghandaan naman talaga na mabuo yan, three months nga ginawa eh. Ngayon hindi ko pa ma-i-ano yung feelings ko, parang minsan tinatanong ko na alng sa sarili ko kung ano yung puwede kong gawin para maging isang mabuting ama at asawa,” he said. Even though some of Melai's friends in showbiz have expressed doubts about his capacity to raise a family, Jason said he is not bothered by this impression. “Hindi kasi nila ako kilala, sila puwede nila sabihin kung ano gusto nilang sabihin, kumbaga sa totoo lang nag-react sa kanila yung parents ko sa province kasi daw bakit tayo lahat masaya tapos sila ganun. Sabi ko hayaan na lang natin sila kasi hindi rin naman nila ako kilala, hindi naman ako close sa kanila. Kasi hindi nila ako kilala, yung itsura ko ganito eh. Pero hindi ako ganun,” he said. The 26-year-old Honesto actor said supporting family is something he has been doing even before becoming a housemate in Pinoy Big Brother. “Sabi ko nga dalawa na lang yung bubuhayin ko ngayon eh kumbaga ilang pamilya ko natulungan ko, tatlo yang pamilya. Kumabaga nakatulong ako sa kanila, sa aking mga pamangkin kahit papaano, so hindi nila yun alam. Ngayon dalawa lang pero imagine mo ilang family yung sa akin, eh hindi pa ako artista naitaguyod ko yun,” he revealed. Their wedding which is set for the first week of December is going to be a modest but solemn affair which includes Melai's relatives from General Santos city. “Kakatapos lang kahapon ng pre-nup namin. Ibig sabihin may pre-nup eh di dire-diretso na yun. Siyempre si Miss Kris (Aquino) ninang talaga pero may iba-iba din na parang mga nakatrabaho naming nung una. Pero hindi naman naming ini-expect. At saka hindi rin naman naming hawak yung schedule nung mga artista,”he said.

Kris, Bimby to be part of Melai-Jason wedding

MANILA - Host-actress Kris Aquino confirmed that she will be one of the godmothers of sweethearts Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, who are set to tie the knot this December. In an episode of "Kris TV" aired on Friday, Aquino said Cantiveros already informed her via text message that she will be part of their wedding in General Santos City. She added that her youngest son, James "Bimby" Yap Jr., will be the ring bearer. "The other day, she texted me to say, 'please block off po, ninang po kayo, tapos si Bimb will be our ring bearer,'" Aquino told her "Kris TV" guest co-host Angelica Panganiban, who is a close friend of Cantiveros. MANILA – The former resident psychologist of “Pinoy Big Brother” believes comedian Jason Francisco needs to undergo anger management therapy to better control his violent tendencies. This comes after Francisco made headlines when he suddenly punched actor John Prats during rehearsals for the late-night gag show "Banana Split" last Thursday. Francisco said he hit Prats because he has had enough of the jokes thrown at his former girlfriend and fellow "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Melai Cantiveros. “Yung violent tendencies ni Jason, of course that’s never normal. Probably I’ll just say it’s an anger management problem or a jealousy problem. With the simple personality that Jason has, it’s more of the emotions na hindi niya makayanan,” pychologist Randy Dolosa said. Dolosa said Francisco is probably just overwhelmed by the fact that it is no longer just between him and Cantiveros, unlike when they were still inside the Big Brother house. “Masyado kasing malaki ang naging mundo na nila ngayon. Whereas before, during the PBB days, it was just Jason and Melai so it was very simple. They just look into each other’s eyes and then there was love. It was a simple type of relationship," Dolosa explained. “Ngayon, marami ng factors involved like, for example, 'yung mga posibleng nanliligaw kay Melai, nagiging friendly sa kanya. The tendency for Jason is to be overprotective. Kaya lang kung tumitindi ang jealousy and then hindi niya ma-handle ang jealousy and anger niya, of course, that’s where the problem sets in,” he said. While the psychologists suggests for the actor to undergo anger management therapy, Dolosa also asked the public not be quick in judging Francisco. “Ang kailangan ni Jason is probably a couple’s counseling, sila ni Melai, anger management, stress management dahil siguro maraming nangyayari sa buhay niya na hindi natin alam. It’s very unfair naman for us to judge Jason din dahil we don’t know what’s happening,” he said. Francisco already apologized to Prats after the incident, adding that he is willing to make amends with the actor. "Ako willing naman ako talaga, kung ano 'yung consequence na i-ano sa akin ni Kuya John... Sana maintindihan mo bilang lalaki ba na nagmamahal. Humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa iyo, na sana ay patawarin mo ako sa nagawa ko," Francisco had said.

"I will pursue filing of physical injury charges against Jason Francisco," Prats' manager, Arnold Vegafria, said in a statement released on Friday. Actor John Prats mulls charges vs fellow TV talent after assault

MANILA, Philippines — Actor John Prats is planning to file charges of physical injuries against fellow ABS-CBN talent Jason Francisco, who assaulted him during rehearsals for the comedy-gag show “Banana Split” Thursday afternoon at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City. “I was watching the rehearsals when out of nowhere, I felt something hit my face from behind. And then I was punched two more times. When I got up, I saw that it was him (Francisco). I wanted to fight back but there were already people restraining me,” Prats told “Saksi” Thursday night. Prats, who was suffering from a swollen left cheek, immediately reported the incident at the San Juan Police Station. As for the assailant’s motives, Prats could only presume that Francisco, who used to be a part of “Banana Split,” blew his top because of all the teasing his former girlfriend Melai Cantiveros gets from the rest of the show’s cast. “Teasing among friends is normal. I get called small or a dwarf — it’s comedy. It shouldn’t be an issue,” he said. Meanwhile, that same night on “Bandila,” a remorseful Francisco appeared on air asking for Prats’ forgiveness. “I apologize for what I did. I hope you and your family can forgive me,” he said.
