MANILA – The former resident psychologist of “Pinoy Big Brother” believes comedian Jason Francisco needs to undergo anger management therapy to better control his violent tendencies.
This comes after Francisco made headlines when he suddenly punched actor John Prats during rehearsals for the late-night gag show "Banana Split" last Thursday.
Francisco said he hit Prats because he has had enough of the jokes thrown at his former girlfriend and fellow "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Melai Cantiveros.
“Yung violent tendencies ni Jason, of course that’s never normal. Probably I’ll just say it’s an anger management problem or a jealousy problem. With the simple personality that Jason has, it’s more of the emotions na hindi niya makayanan,” pychologist Randy Dolosa said.
Dolosa said Francisco is probably just overwhelmed by the fact that it is no longer just between him and Cantiveros, unlike when they were still inside the Big Brother house.
“Masyado kasing malaki ang naging mundo na nila ngayon. Whereas before, during the PBB days, it was just Jason and Melai so it was very simple. They just look into each other’s eyes and then there was love. It was a simple type of relationship," Dolosa explained.
“Ngayon, marami ng factors involved like, for example, 'yung mga posibleng nanliligaw kay Melai, nagiging friendly sa kanya. The tendency for Jason is to be overprotective. Kaya lang kung tumitindi ang jealousy and then hindi niya ma-handle ang jealousy and anger niya, of course, that’s where the problem sets in,” he said.
While the psychologists suggests for the actor to undergo anger management therapy, Dolosa also asked the public not be quick in judging Francisco.
“Ang kailangan ni Jason is probably a couple’s counseling, sila ni Melai, anger management, stress management dahil siguro maraming nangyayari sa buhay niya na hindi natin alam. It’s very unfair naman for us to judge Jason din dahil we don’t know what’s happening,” he said.
Francisco already apologized to Prats after the incident, adding that he is willing to make amends with the actor.
"Ako willing naman ako talaga, kung ano 'yung consequence na i-ano sa akin ni Kuya John... Sana maintindihan mo bilang lalaki ba na nagmamahal. Humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa iyo, na sana ay patawarin mo ako sa nagawa ko," Francisco had said.
