Why Freddie Aguilar is a music legend

Although largely in the limelight nowadays for his controversial love life, Freddie Aguilar was first celebrated for bringing pride to the country with the worldwide hit "Anak." Dubbed a "Philippine music legend," the singer-songwriter made history when the iconic song went international, with some 30 translations and over 100 versions recorded. It went on to be cited as the No. 2 worldwide hit of the 1980's by Billboard magazine. In an interview on "Tapatan ni Tunying" aired Thursday, the 60-year-old Aguilar shared his career beginning in Olongapo, where he penned what would become a history-making single, and how he almost took on a different path in law enforcement or politics.
