MANILA – Charice and her girlfriend Alyssa Quijano will be making sweet music together in the third album of the former “Glee” star set to be released in the Philippines this September.
Although she did not disclose the title of the song, Charice told ABS-CBN News on Wednesday that it is one of their theme songs.
“Meron kaming collaboration sa album. Isa sa mga theme songs, hindi naman main pero special kasi first time na ka-duet ko,” said a tickled-pink Charice while talking about her girlfriend.
“Hindi na mawawala [ang kilig] kasi kapag true love na. Okay lang mawala yung kilig pero yung love mo nandoon pa rin,” she explained.
Aside from their collaboration, Charice said her fans will also be hearing a different sound from her.
“Iba 'yung maririnig nila sa album. Bago na. Mayroon pa rin namang halo nung dating Charice na hinangaan nila kasi we can’t take that away. Iyon ang gusto nila eh. Pero siyempre ginawa ko din naman kung saan ako komportable,” she said.
Charice said she wanted this album to be special for her Filipino fans because it has been a while since she released a local album.
“Gusto ko gumawa ng ibang album para sa Philippines kasi last time na nag-release ako, years ago pa. 'Yung gusto kasi nila i-release international. Pero sabi ko gusto ko special 'yung sa Philippines. Pupunta ako sa Germany tapos babalik ako dito para i-release na ang album sa September,” she said.
The 21-year-old singer said she has already recorded a song, where she had a hand in its arrangement.
Fighting for her love
Meanwhile, Charice defended Quijano against those who are criticizing her for keeping mum amid their much-talked about relationship.
“Hindi naman niya kailangan sagutin kung ano ang mga binabatikos sa kanya kasi una sa lahat, iyon na ang in-expect namin. Again I know people will see how talented she is and how beautiful she is. Iyon lang gusto kong Makita ng tao sa kanya. People will see that very very soon,” she said.
Charice said she admires Quijano even more because she knows how to handle the critics against her.
“She doesn’t care about her bashers. Mas affected siya sa mga nagba-bash sa akin. Ayaw na ayaw niyang may nagba-bash sa akin, she gets hurt. Kahit sinasabi ko sa kanya na okay lang, makikita sa mukha niya, tatahimik na lang,” she said.
Charice vowed to always fight for the love of her life.
“We are gonna fight. Not only me, not only her but we are gonna fight. Iyon naman iyon eh. That’s what love is all about,” she said.
