Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Snubbed for Best Kiss at MTV Movie Awards

Say it isn't so! After winning the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss for the past four consecutive years, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson didn't receive a 2013 nomination for their lip-lock in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, the fifth and final film in the blockbuster saga that sparked their real-life romance.

MTV released the 2013 MTV Movie Awards nominations list on Tuesday, March 5 and Best Kiss champions Stewart, 22, and Pattinson, 26, were noticeably missing. Instead, the category bestowed nominations upon Django Unchained's Kerry Washington and Jamie Foxx, Moonrise Kingdom's Kara Hayward and Jared Gilman, Silver Linings Playbook's Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, Ted's Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg and The Perks of Being a Wallflower's Emma Watson and Logon Lerman.

For the past four years, real-life couple Stewart and Pattinson have teased Twilight fans by almost kissing on stage while accepting the Best Kiss award -- but never actually smooching. With 2013 being the last chance for the Twilight stars to kiss onstage -- and after their rockiest time yet as a couple -- many fans are outraged that the couple were denied a nod.

"Dear MTV this year was the last year Twilight and Robsten could be nominated so thanks for ruining everything," one fan tweeted.

Another Twi-hard wrote, "I can't believe that Robsten is not nominated for Best Kiss! What happened? Twilight is the best. Explain MTV Movie Awards."

In memory of the MTV Movie Awards kiss that never will be, take a look back at Stewart and Pattinson's past acceptance speeches for Best Kiss.

2009 -- Twilight

"I need to remove my gum," Pattinson said to the delight of audience. After the couple slowly inched towards and touched faces, Stewart pulled away and said, "Thank you so much!"

2010 -- The Twilight Saga: New Moon

"Thanks a lot, guys. There was very stiff competition this year, so thanks very much. It's really nice to win it two years in a row," Pattinson told the crowd while accepting the Golden Popcorn trophy.

"So I guess the thing to do is we're supposed to kiss each other, but, to be perfectly honest with you, it takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to make us look good kissing, Stewart added. "I mean, we don't want to let you guys down . . . we'll give it a shot." They awkwardly tried to share a smooch, but ultimately failed. "We probably shouldn't do this, right?" Stewart asked the audience. Pattinson then grabbed Stewart and tried to pull her in, but she pushed him away. "Oh man," she said. "We really appreciate it. Bye. Thanks!"

2011 -- The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Stewart earned a Best Kiss nomination with both Pattinson and costar Taylor Lautner, but she won with Pattinson. "I feel bad because I don't feel like kissing you," Pattinson told Stewart onstage. "Well, it's been a long time and I think maybe we should finally go for it," Stewart argued.

"I just think there's someone else in the audience who I think will appreciate it a little more," Pattinson quipped before running to Lautner and trying to kiss him instead.

2012 -- The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1

One month before Stewart was caught cheating on Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, she accepted the Best Kiss award solo while Pattinson was away on a promotional tour for Cosmopolis. "Rob's not here, you guys," she said. "I don't really know what to do."

Stewart decided to beg other costars to come onstage to share a kiss with her, but had no luck. "It's okay because I actually do pretty well by myself I think," she said, turning her back to the audience and pretending to make out with herself. "Okay, this really means a lot," she said seriously. "Thank you guys very much for giving us Best Kiss again. Thank you."
