Jake Cuenca once again spoke up about his admiration for his Maria Mercedes co-star Jessy Mendiola. Although he stayed firm on the fact that he really does not do traditional courtship, he recently said during a presscon for the show that he is willing to adjust to Jessy’s preference to be wooed. “Ano pa eh tulad naman ng sinabi ni Jess di ba nandun ako para mag-adjust. Kung gusto niya talaga ng lalaking liligaw, di ba obviously naman may gusto ako sa kanya edi maga-adjust ako di ba? Kung kailangan manligaw, kailangan ko matutunan manligaw.”
He spoke again about Sam Milby, who is very open about his feelings for Jessy and about waiting for Jessy to be ready to enter into a relationship. Jake has said that he and Sam are friends and that they don’t have any problems with regards to Jessy. “Magkaibigan naman kami ni Sam. Wala namang alitan sa aming dalawa. Wala pa namang pormal na kahit ano. Tsaka tulad naman ng sabi ni Jessy di pa naman talaga siya ready so I don’t see anything wrong. Parang wala naman sigurong problema na maging magkaibigan kami di ba?”
When Jake was again asked what most attracted him to Jessy, “What’s not to like is the question. Parang sobrang ganda niya and I think the personality nakaka-challenge to go for her pero maganda kasi kay Jessy the times na nago-open up siya, the times na naguusap kayo na kayong dalawa lang, you see something that’s so reserved that’s just for her and I enjoy that.”
Recently, Jake was once again in the spotlight when news broke out that a brawl between him and Lovi Poe’s ex-boyfriend, politician Ronald Singson, came about a few weeks ago. Reports of tension between two because of Jake’s involvement with Lovi haven’t died down ever since the actor was first linked to the actress. Jake clarified that he and Cong. Singson were not involved in a fist fight that happened in a bar. “Hindi. Really wala. Nothing. Actually tinanong sa akin yan ng mga kaibigan ko yesterday. Gulong-gulo naman ako kasi wala namang gulong nangyayari. Although meron tao di ko alam kung kilala ba niya ko o ano, medyo binangga niya ko pero ang ginawa ko na lang umalis na lang ako kasi ilang beses na kong nasangkot sa ganyan so I just became the bigger person and I just left pero one thing is for sure di ako nagsimula ng away wala namang bugbugan na nangyari.”
