Gerald suggests cast for 'OTJ' Hollywood remake

LAWNDALE, California -- Together with fellow Kapamilya stars, Gerald Anderson made his US-based fans happy when they met him at the "Teleserye Bidas" show in Southern California last Saturday. The actor is known as one the Philippines' current in-demand actors and has achieved a lot in his young career. Now that many of his dreams have come true, is the actor thinking of settling down in the near future? "Of course not,” he said, laughing. “Grabe, of course not. Nakakatakot naman ‘yan! Of course not. I'm just enjoying kung ano man ang meron ako ngayon. Bata pa naman ako. One of my main focus right now is my career and acting." The actor also responded to reports that he had a falling out with girlfriend Maja Salvador. "Akala ko ikakasal na kami?” he said in jest, laughing. “No, we're just enjoying every moment. Ako as a person na rin, I'm just enjoying life.” “I'm only 24, ang dami ko pang gustong gawin," he added. Anderson is happy that his movie "On The Job" will get a Hollywood remake. As reported by ABS-CBN News in September, Baltasar Korm├íkur, the director of Hollywood movies "2 Guns" and "Contraband," is on board to direct and co-produce the remake. Universal Pictures has optioned the rights to the crime thriller. Anderson said he has a couple of Hollywood actors in mind for the role that he originated. “Bilang Daniel? I think si Mark Walhberg, kayang-kaya, or Leonardo DiCaprio, siyempre. Nangarap lang naman. Pero ‘yon, sila. Ang gagaling nila eh, sila ‘yung mga idol namin,” he said. On what roles he prefers to take on in the future, Anderson said, “I think something that will challenge me.” “Syempre gusto natin matsa-challenge eh. Hindi natin gusto ‘yung paulit-ulit na ginagawa natin. ‘Di naman kailangang big role or small role, basta effective at malalim ‘yung role,” he said.
