MANILA – Actress Rhian Ramos feels “very lucky” to have been given the opportunity to appear in the music video of the song “Fall Asleep” by the Grammy Award-winning band Jars of Clay.
In an interview with The Philippine Star, Ramos said the experience was just brought about by “a lot of swerte and connections.”
“Nung nalaman ng kaibigan ko — si Luigi Tabuena, director siya — na may concert sila sa Philippines ng Holy Week, nag-propose siya ng music video para nga sa song nila na ‘Fall Asleep.’ In-email niya sa banda, nagustuhan ng banda. Pumayag sila na pagdating nila dito, pagkatapos ng concert, gagawa sila ng music video,” she related.
Aside from headlining the video, Ramos said she is more proud of the fact that it was created by an all-Filipino team and was shot entirely in the Philippines.
“I’d want every to know that so it would bring more work to the control, in terms of filmmaking, at least,” she said.
“Maybe, in the future, if people come here to shoot, more of the artists would get work also, including me na rin also. So it would all be positive, whether or not I get noticed,” she added.
In their official Twitter account, the American Christian band, on the other hand, gave credit to Ramos and Tabuena for creating the video.
“Many thanks to @whianwamos for being so wonderfully perfect in our Fall Asleep video! And to @LDTabuena for envisioning & directing it!!” the group said.
To which Ramos replied: “I just feel very lucky to be a part of your brilliance colliding. So awesome that you guys worked together.”
First published on YouTube last September 15, the music video of “Fall Asleep” now has almost 100,000 views.
