Korina Sanchez wins P1 in 'Deal' finale

Luis Manzano cries as show bids farewell MANILA -- Veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez marked a "historic" moment in "Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal" in its final episode aired on Saturday. Sanchez would not strike a "deal" with the "banker" even as she consecutively eliminated the biggest cash prizes in play by choosing briefcases to open. With P1 and P400 being the last values on the board, the banker offered Sanchez P114. The "TV Patrol anchor would not have it, however, and went on to open her chosen briefcase. It contained a total cash prize of P1.00. After Sanchez's game, host Luis Manzano proceeded to bid farewell to the viewers of the program. This edition of "Deal or No Deal," which premiered in February 2012, is the fourth installment and the first to be hosted by Manzano since the hit global franchise premiered on Philippine TV in 2006. "Mga Kapamilya, sabi nga, there's a time for everything. After 71 episodes, more than P10 million given away, mahigit 50 charities and beneficiaries, the time has come for us to say goodbye. "Sa lahat po na nagpatuloy sa amin sa kanilang tahanan tuwing Sabado ng gabi, sa aming mga Kapamilya at mga kaibigan, naging mas masaya ang biyaheng ito dahil sa inyo," he said.
