MANILA – Actress Anne Curtis did not expect that she will receive hundreds of compliments after her mashup with Martin Nievera was released online.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Curtis explained that she and Nievera only did the recording for a friend but instead it became a viral hit.
“Hindi ko talaga alam anong sasabihin nila. Some people might disagree with it but what actually happened was iba ang naging reaction nila. Sobra akong na-overwhelm at nagpapasalamat kasi parang ang dami ng hits kaagad. 'Yung timeline ko, nag-flood, tapos nag-trending pa ako,” she said.
Aside from netizens’ compliments, Curtis said she also felt honored that the country's Concert King agreed to do a duet with her.
Asked why she thinks people liked her video, she said: “In all fairness naman, talagang I gave my best kasi nga ang kasama ko isang serious singer pero he’s also like me na goofy and playful that’s why I think it came out nice.”
As of writing, Martin and Curtis' video which was uploaded on Sunday already has 481,837 views on YouTube.
In the music video, Curtis is seen singing David Guetta and Usher's "Without You," while Nievera is singing U2's "With or Without You."
Currently, Curtis is gearing up for her "Annebisyosa" concert in Tuguegarao.
