MANILA, Philippines -- "The Voice of the Philippines" coaches Sarah Geronimo and Lea Salonga denied that their rivalry on the hit reality talent search has spilled over off-camera.
"Wala naman 'yun. Part 'yun ng pagiging sport ng show, 'yung fun, 'di ba," the 24-year-old Geronimo said in an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report" aired Saturday.
"Ganun talaga. Iyon 'yung reality ng 'The Voice of the Philippines.' Meron talagang hindi napipili na coach, 'yung pwedeng sumama ng loob," she added, laughing.
Geronimo is referring to the format of the program, as seen in over 50 countries, wherein four coaches form teams of 12 members by screening artists through the Blind Auditions.
With their backs turned to the auditionees, the coaches only rely on the voice as the determining factor as to whether they will turn their chairs around to recruit the artist.
In the event that more than two or more coaches choose a particular artist, the coaches will have to convince the artist to pick them.
"Syempre mahirap, kailangan pabulaklakan ng words, labasan ng credentials, 'di ba," Geronimo said. "Gagawin mo lahat tapos sasabihin mo na lahat para lang makuha siya."

In several instances during the Blind Auditions -- which will air for five more episodes until July 27 -- Geronimo and Salonga came head to head in convincing one contestant to join their respective teams.
During the audition of ex-Kulay member Radha Tinsay aired on June 22, Salonga, in convincing the artist to join her team over Geronimo's, remarked that unlike the young singer, she "doesn't have to sell herself too much."
"I'm glad that my chair was the first one to turn for you, let me say that right now. You already know what I can do as a coach, 'yun nalang sasabihin ko," Salonga told Tinsay.
"I don't have to sell myself too much," the 42-year-old singer added, before turning to Geronimo to say, "You, however..."
In a separate interview on "Showbiz Inside Report," Salonga clarified that any such comments they make on the show are all made in jest, and that they remain professional about it.
"Ay, hindi. We don't take it seriously. Hindi kami nagkakainitan. This is my thing, this is a personal thing. I tease people I like, and the more I like them, the hotter it gets," she said.
The Tony award winner also teased that Geronimo has yet to show her "full arsenal" on the program as a coach. "Si Sarah, may armas pa 'yan na hindi naaano... She's going to blow us all away, all four... the rest of us!"
As of the most recent episode of "The Voice of the Philippines" aired last Sunday, coach Bamboo Manalac has already recruited nine artists; Geronimo and coach Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda, eight each; and Salonga, seven.
Hosted by Toni Gonzaga with Alex Gonzaga and Robi Domingo, the ABS-CBN program airs Saturdays at 9 p.m. and Sundays at 8:15 p.m.
