MANILA, Philippines -- ABS-CBN has submitted a film version of "Be Careful With My Heart" as one of the possible film entries to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap. File photo A big-screen version of the top-rating "kilig-serye," which stars Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap, is among the 15 film projects being considered by organizer Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to fill in the 8 slots for the competing entries to be shown on Christmas Day. Familiar faces from previous editions of the MMFF are also looking to return this year. Films starring Vic Sotto, Bong Revilla, Kris Aquino, Vice Ganda, and ER Ejercito are among those submitted. Sotto, whose "Enteng" film franchise has been a staple presence in the annual MMFF, will star opposite Aquino in a film called "Torky and My Little Bossing." The actress-host's previous MMFF outings include "Segunda Mano" and last year's "Sisterakas," which is currently the country's all-time highest grossing film. Aquino's co-star in "Sisterakas," Vice Ganda, could also return to the 39th MMFF with the Star Cinema and Viva Films co-production "Boy Girl Bakla Tomboy," wherein he will act opposite Maricel Soriano. Revilla, meanwhile, is also hoping his film "My Super Kap," co-starring Ogie Alcasid and Toni Gonzaga, will be included in the competing 8 entries this year. The actor-politician is known for his "Agimat" film series taking part in the yearly MMFF. Another frequent competitor in the film festival, Ejercito, has likewise submitted a film for consideration this year. Ejercito's follow-up to "Manila Kingpin" and "El Presidente" is titled "Boy Golden" and co-stars KC Concepcion. Hoping to make a splash with his big-screen comeback is action star Robin Padila, who is featured in a starring role in two films submitted for consideration to the 39th MMFF -- "10,000 Hours" and "Sa Ngalan Ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak." His nephew, teen heartthrob Daniel Padilla, is similarly set to star in two possible entries to the film festival -- "Sa Ngalan Ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak" co-starring his uncle, and his second big-screen project with on-screen partner Kathryn Bernardo, titled "Pagpag." Piolo Pascual, meanwhile, is looking to bring another "Kimmy Dora" to the big-screen in time for Christmas Day.
