MANILA, Philippines – Actress Kathryn Bernardo is not mad at the fan who stole a kiss from her onscreen partner Daniel Padilla while the actor was performing on “ASAP” last Sunday.
In an interview with entertainment website Push.com.ph, Bernardo said she was just shocked at the bold gesture of Padilla’s fan.
“Well feeling ko nun, nagulat ako. Siguro na-bother ako kung hindi okay ‘yun kay DJ pero feeling ko na-overwhelm lang din siguro 'yung fan and hindi natin siya masisisi,” she said.
While saying she does not want to make a big deal out of it, Bernardo said she was just concerned about how Padilla might react after the incident.
“Hindi, hindi ako galit. Okay lang pero sana lang maiwasan kasi baka siyempre kay DJ, ma-off siya,” she said.
Immediately after the matinee idol received an awkward kiss from the fan, the hashtag “Respect Daniel Padilla” dominated the microblogging site Twitter from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.
Many fans reacted negatively about the incident, saying Padilla seemed uncomfortable at that time.
But in an interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday, Padilla clarified that the fan was not able to kiss him on his lips. Padilla further acknowledged that such things happen as part of his job.
“Iyon ay bahagi ng trabaho, hindi naman maiiwasan,” he said.
Bernardo and Padilla recently admitted that they are officially “M.U.” or in a mutual understanding phase in their relationship.
The two stars are currently promoting their first full-length movie “Must Be Love,” which opens in theaters this month.
