Humiling ang PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Heart Evangelista ng sandaling interview sa backstage ng Party Pilipinas last Sunday, February 24.
Matapos ang appearance niya sa musical show ng GMA-7, nagpaunlak naman ang aktres kahit ito’y nagmamadali.
Agad naming tinanong si Heart tungkol sa naging bakasyon nito sa San Francisco, California, kasama ang nobyong si Senator Chiz Escudero.
Sabi ng Kapuso actress, “Okay naman, although medyo napagod lang kami dahil four days lang kami sa States.
“Oo, kasi two days siya [Chiz]... two days siya doon… but it was nice kasi I got to spend time with my sister. Ganyan.
“Nakapag-ikot-ikot ng konti. Tapos, yun."
Bakit four days lang ang bakasyon nila?
“Actually, parang three days in a half lang, ganoon lang yung time.
“Kasi kailangang magtrabaho and it's campaign time also.
"He needs to do what he needs to do, ako rin naman I need to do what I need to do."
Parang bitin yata ang bakasyon?
“Hindi naman. Kasi yung sister ko, yung brother-in-law ko, we’re all together kaya masaya naman."
CHIZ’S GIFT.
Maliban sa trip, ano pa ba ang regalo sa kanya ni Senator Chiz?
“Ahm… actually the trip. Yung trip and then, we went to different restaurants, experiencing… yun na ang pinaka-gift niya sa akin and a very nice card.
“But… yun lang and a lot of flowers—every day may flowers ako. Ganyan."
Doon sa bakasyon nila, ano pa ang nadiskubre niya kay Chiz?
“Wala naman, actually. Consistent siya from the time that I really got to know him, ‘til sa we’d leave and we go somewhere.
“He’s very maalaga to me and basically treats me like a princess but with my feet on the ground.
“Hindi niya ako… tama lang. Basta, he allows me…
"Kunwari whenever I go shopping, he allows me to… hinihintay niya ako the whole time.
"Normal siyang tao doon."
FACTORS. Ano ang meron sa relasyon na ito para sabihing napakasaya niya?
Tugon ni Heart, “I guess, kasi… kasi he’s older and madami na siyang na-experience sa buhay niya.
“And that's something I’ve always wanted—I wanted to be with someone na I didn’t have to explain how I felt about certain things.
“Somebody would understand that I’m younger and there are things I understand.
“And I get confused and yet you have someone who would hold your hands and make you understand the things in life."
Si Heart ay 28 years old, samantalang si Chiz ay 43.
Patuloy niya, “And also kasi, he’s just really nice. I don’t feel I’m with a senator.
“Ako pa nga yung parang artista na minsan, nabi-VIP treatment, hindi pumipila. Siya, ayaw niya, pinapipila niya kami.
“So, sabi ko noong nasa na States kami, ‘Okay, itodo na natin ito. Maging normal na tayo.’
“So, we walked the city… normal kami. So, ganoon siya."
Paano naman yung mga nakakakita sa kanilang mga kapwa Pinoy?
“In fairness, maraming nagpa-picture, pero wala masyadong nakakakita sa amin doon.
“Siguro, sa area, wala masyadong Pilipino doon."
RIGHT TIMING. Honestly, nakikita ba ni Heart ang kanyang sarili na pakakasalan si Chiz?
Sagot niya, “Maybe in a relationship naman, especially as you get older, you get more serious…
“Yeah, I think of that. But it’s more of… you think of is it the right time?
“Or, you know, you want to make sure that everything would be smooth-sailing.
“So, madali lang namang magpakasal. So, kailangan lang talaga everything is in place or sure na sure ka na talaga…
“Because okay lang na failed relationship, you know… it’s hard to find the right lifetime partner.
“Pero mahirap magkamali pag ikinasal ka na. So, I’m taking my time."
Napi-feel ba ni Heart na secure ang feelings ng kanyang mga magulang sa relasyon niya kay Chiz?
“Ever since na… before, sa past relationship ko, hindi na sila nakikialam, e.
“They’re not really the type na hindi na nga sila katulad ng dati.
“Wala naman silang sinasabi. They just let me know kung saan daw ako masaya.
“But they don’t really… parang super yung support or super hindi. They just allow me to do what I want na."
BONDING. Does Chiz get along with her family?
“Yeah, they’ve hang out na. Like sa birthday ko… ganyan.
“Or one time, we went to my dad’s beach house. Nag-visit kami doon. I got to show him our beaches. Ganun-ganoon lang.
