Emma Watson Talks Bling Ring Research: Watching Pretty Wild "Gave Me Anxiety"

Doing research for a role can be tough. The sweet and innocent Emma Watson had to step out of her comfort zone for her role in Sofia Coppola's Bling Ring, where she plays a character inspired by reality star Alexis Neiers, so she decided to do her research: Watch Neiers in her reality show, Pretty Wild. But it wasn't the best of times for Watson. During an interview with Rookie magazine, the actress was asked, "Have you heard from her [Neiers] about the film or anything?" Watson responded, "No, I haven't. To be fair to Alexis, [my character] is like three steps removed from who she might be in real life. A lot of the material in the movie was based on an article, which was based on a reality show, which we all know isn't real life. I wasn't trying to impersonate her—she just inspired the character. I watched Pretty Wild so many times to try and get her into my brain, though. It gave me anxiety. How do you watch it?" Those shows have a way of sucking you in, Emma. Although the star was never approached by Neiers, the new mom definitely gave her two cents on the flick via Twitter. "@AmyKinLA it's trashy and inaccurate," Neiers, who spent 30 days in jail for her role in burglarizing Orlando Bloom's house back in 2009, tweeted to Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman. "Based on Detective Goodkin and Nancy Joe Sales inaccurate information," Neiers continued on Twitter. "2 people who are everything they accused us of being. Celebrity status obsessed, fame & money hungry. The truth will come out soon enough and I have no intention of seeing this film," she concluded.

Casting of '50 Shades of Grey' Stars Confirmed Who will play Ana and Christian

I love Jonah Hill. I don't care if he's 250 pounds or 150 pounds, the man is epically hilarious. Which is why I appreciated his special Fifty Shades of Grey announcement at last night's MTV Movie Awards. We've heard Emma Watson's name thrown into the ring about a bajillion times for the role of Anastasia Steele, but at last night's awards, Hill jested that she'd actually been chosen to play the big role -- opposite him.

"I'm officially announcing we'll be starring in the screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey," Hill joked. "My safety word is tangerine. If I say that word, you have to stop doing stuff to me.”

HA! Now THAT would be a duo no one would expect. Can you picture Jonah in a Christian Grey suit?? Emma, though, she has all of the right qualities to play Ana. Her age, her innocence, her versatility. I wouldn't be surprised if we really do hear she's nabbed the part in the future.

It's been a while since Emma Watson ran ship as Hermoine Granger. The actress has come a long way since those days -- starring in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and all of those sexy Burberry campaigns. I'm convinced that now is as good of a time as any for her to revamp her career -- and the role of Ana could be absolutely perfect.

With that said though, I'm about ready for some REAL Fifty Shades of Grey casting news to break. All of these possibilities are driving me bonkers!! The sooner we know the REAL deal, the sooner we can start getting pumped for summer 2014!
