What started out as a guest stint on I Dare You last year ended up becoming another full-time hosting gig for Robi Domingo who now hosts the second season of the show along with John Prats, Melai Cantiveros, and Deniesse Aguilar. The show starts airing this Saturday, October 12 after Maalaala Mo Kaya and has Robi hosting the challenge for John and celebrity guest Jewel Mische. “More than the challenges, ito yung show na masasabi kong may puso eh kasi unlike before nung nag-guest ako sa season one, one day lang talaga yun. I came from the episode dun sa Batangas tapos talagang one day lang from morning until the next day, yun lang yung experience ko as a contestant. Parang naging more of a charity show siya. Ngayon it’s more than a game, it’s more of an immersion, an experience na kahit yung mga celebrity kakampi talagang nagulat sa mga pangyayari. Kami rin, hindi naming akalain na possible pala ito,” he admitted. Fresh from hosting duties on The Voice of the Philippines, Robi admitted there is some pressure with his new show taking over the Saturday time slot. “Yes, hindi talaga mawawala yun kasi iba yung The Voice eh, The Voice has been a storm. It dominated the ratings, yung mga guests namin yung tipong sila Shane Filan (of Westlife) na pumunta mismo dito sa bansa natin just to promote and si Patti Austin went to Resorts World just to sing. In our show, we’re not promising to give you Shane Filans or Patti Austins, but we promise to give you our passion, to give you our experiences and all of our hearts. Iba yung blend niya, this is not a competition, it’s not about P2M pesos, about recording contracts. It is all about experiences and immersion and telling people na yung hamon talaga ng pagbabago ay kailangan harapin ngayon na,” he explained. Robi also enjoyed getting to know how other people live in different provinces. “Talagang nagustuhan namin yung pagiging genuine nila, yung connection naming with them to the point na ayaw mo na silang kalimutan and we feel that you guys ay mararamdaman niyo rin yun,” he added. I Dare You was initially set to air earlier this year which is why Robi said they have finished taping all the episodes for the next 12 weeks. Although tapings can take him out of town for weeks at a time, he said his relationship with volleyball star-turned-host Gretchen Ho is going steady. “When we were doing this show, matagal na kasi. During PBB Teens pa lang ginagawa na namin with John Prats. During those times, wala pa kami ni Gretchen. With The Voice I got busy pero busy din naman siya eh. You just have to have that passion just to see her at saka kahit pagod pagod ka na, andun pa rin yung kagustuhan mo na makita pa rin siya and at the same time, gusto ka rin niya makita. Officially five and a half months na kami,” he admitted. When asked how it feels to finally get his dream girl, Robi said he is thankful for everything. “I just feel so blessed about everything. Imagine PBB, The Voice, her and then I Dare You, sobrang ang daming blessings kaya I feel so big and I feel na kailangan kong i-impart yan sa iba’t ibang mga bagay,” he shared.
