Emerging as the big winner of a reality show has put Kim Chiu’s every move under public scrutiny, including her toughest personal battles. Yet despite everything that she has gone through—a broken heart, the loss of a family member, and major and minor achievements, she continues to weather all the storms that have come her way. Seven years in showbiz has made her mature, according to Kim during the recently concluded press conference for her month-long special on Wansapanataym. "Siguro growth rin po dito sa show business kasi hindi naman po pwedeng forever kang teenybopper na mga 16, 17, 18. Tsaka siyempre dapat act your age na, siyempre 23 [na ako] so ganito na," explained the actress about the palpable change in her aura. But even though she may seem to have it all, Kim was honest enough to confess that there's still one thing that she wishes to achieve. "Siyempre lahat naman ng artista ang gusto naman nila ay magkaroon ng kahit isang acting award," admitted Kim whose latest feat is the box office hit Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo opposite Xian Lim. On her latest TV endeavor, Kim will be playing a helper who has a fairy godmother that will help her instill good values in children. The 23-year-old star who has headlined many dramatic soaps said that the fantasy genre and inspiring projects have always had a special place in her heart. Press people then asked Kim about a time in her life which she hopes to happen anew. The actress boldly replied with, "Ako hindi ako naniniwala sa sana maulit muli kasi tapos na yun eh. You've been through that journey and you have to move forward para maka-learn ka pa ng more lessons para maka-experience kapa ng ipaparamdam ng Diyos na kind of life that you will have." "Wag ka ng bumalik, diretso ka na," added Kim. When Jose Rizal's famous adage "Ang hindi lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan" was broached, Kim's rebuttal which earned her applause was "Iba naman po ang lumingon sa pinanggalingan sa babalikan ang isang bagay." In the end, Kim underscored that she has already moved on from the past issues that were being hurled her way. Among those issues she had to go through was her bitter split with Gerald Anderson and her falling out with former best friend Maja Salvador, who became the Fil-Am actor's current girlfriend. Kim's month-long magical fairytale Wansapanataym presents My Fairy Kasambahay will start airing on September 7 after Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.
