MANILA – Andi Eigenmann said there is no reason for her to be intimidated by Maricel Soriano because the veteran actress is beautiful inside and out.
Eigenmann said that, contrary to Soriano's "mataray" image, the "Momzillas" lead star is very motherly in person.
And she should know since she is Soriano's goddaughter.
“Mabait siya talaga and sobra niyang friendly and mahilig siya makipagkuwentuhan. Kahit prangka siya, or matapang, para sa akin kung marunong kang rumespeto, bakit ka naman dapat kabahan,” she said.
Eigenmann said she did not get nervous working with Soriano in “Momzillas,” adding that Soriano even guided her throughout the time that they were filming.
“Si Nay Maria para ko siyang third mother kasi second mother si Direk Wenn (Deramas). Masarap magtrabaho kasi una sa lahat, Diamond Star iyan, respetado. Sobrang honor and blessing na makatrabaho sila. Masarap ang pakiramdam kasi alam ko na hindi nila ako papabayaan,” she said.
Meanwhile, Eigenmann said she does not want to feel pressured about the movie's box-office performance just because it is directed by Deramas, whose previous comedies “Praybeyt Benjamin” and “Sisterakas” are among the highest grossing local films of all time.
“Para sa akin, basta gagawin ko ang trabaho ko, lahat ng makakaya ko, hindi ko iniisip agad-agad ;yung outcome. Kung ano man iyon, tatanggapin ko and I will be thankful and grateful to God na binigyan niya ako ng pagkakataon na maging part ng project na ito,” she said.
She added: “Pagdating sa pagiging blockbuster, dagdag na premyo na lang iyon sa akin. Hindi naman dapat iyon inaasahan ang pinipilit mangyari.”
Aside from Eigenmann and Soriano, “Momzillas” also features Eugene Domingo and Billy Crawford.
A co-production between Star Cinema and Viva Films, it is set to be released in theaters nationwide on September 18.
