Julia defends Cherie Gil over 'intense' scene


MANILA -- Young actress Julia Montes defended her "Muling Buksan ang Puso" co-star Cherie Gil, saying that the latter is only doing her job as an actress. This after netizens reacted to a scene aired early this week where Gil's character, Marietta, hit Sarah (Montes) after allegedly endangering the life of her real son, Francis (Enrique Gil). On Instagram, Montes maintained that Gil, who is known as as the country's "primera contravida," is a "lovable" person in real life. "Maybe you hate her as MARIETTA . Pero napakabait at lovable ni tita @macherieamour," Montes as she uploaded a photo of herself and Gil. " ... and regarding sa scene she didn't hurt me ... She's just a brilliant actress #idol #inspiration," she added. Also on Instagram, Gil stressed that she loves Montes. "Love this girl. Didn't mean to hurt you bad yesterday. It's only pretend right? @juliamontes #mbap #teleserye #anactorslife," Gil said.
