Cory Monteith's Final Film: Watch the Intense Trailer for McCanick Now

Cory Monteith may be gone, but his legacy lives on in two unreleased projects that he filmed before his unexpected death. One of which is McCanick, which will premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. Photos from the film were released yesterday, but today sees the debut of the first trailer. And it's intense, to say the least. In the film, Monteith plays a drug-addicted criminal named Simon Weeks, who is released from prison only to be hunted down by a narcotics detective who has a secret that only Simon can expose. After Monteith, 31, died of a heroin and alcohol overdose last month, the subject matter of the film hits closer to home than ever. But director Josh C. Waller has said, "[Cory] was very vocal about his past and said he wanted to tap into things from his youth that he hadn't been able to use as an actor yet." Still, it may be too difficult for many Monteith fans to watch. Cory's other remaining project, All the Wrong Reasons, will also premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. In the Canadian film, Monteith plays a store manager whose wife suffers from PTSD. The movie costars Kevin Zegers, who recently recalled of Monteith's death, "It was a heavy and weird month. Cory was the nicest man I knew." As for Glee, Monteith will be written out of the upcoming season. "The third episode will write Finn out of the show," FOX chief Kevin Reilly recently revealed. "That episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with Cory's passing and the drug abuse in particular."
