MANILA – Young actress Julia Barretto does not mind that “Confradia” got shelved because she believes her new project is even better.
“Ako okay lang because ‘Mira Bella’ is equally exciting, equally beautiful and even better. Actually, I would like to share with you that this story is talagang pampamilya with romance para sa age ninyo and para sa age ko rin,” she told ABS-CBN News.
Barretto, who will play the title role in the upcoming series, said she trusts that the ABS-CBN management knows what’s best for her career.
“I really trust Dreamscape, Star Magic, ABS-CBN and they want the best for me and for Diego (Loyzaga) and Kiko (Diaz-Estrada). Whatever they think is going to be good for everyone, doon kami,” she said.
Asked whether she feels relieved since her new show isn’t a remake anymore, the 16-year-old actress said: “Hindi naman sa hindi na maco-compare. I’m very, very happy na basta the opportunity is still there, ang ganda ng project.”
Saying her new show is “very beautiful and fairytale-like,” Barretto said she is also honored to be working with Loyzaga and Diaz-Estrada, who are also from showbiz families like her.
Loyzaga is the son of Teresa Loyzaga and Cesar Montano, while Diaz-Estrada is the grandson of the late actor Pacquito Diaz.
“Mas mabuti sa akin na you get to work with a lot of actors and new people kasi doon mag-e-expand ang knowledge mo. There are both good guys and good actors. I’m beyond excited to work with them,” Barretto said.
