Why James Yap won't see Bimby soon

MANILA – It seems that professional basketball player James Yap will not be able to spend quality time with his son with former wife Kris Aquino, James “Bimby” Yap Jr., soon. Aquino posted several photos in the image-sharing site Instagram showing that she is currently in Malaysia with sons Bimby and Joshua. The three left the country for a vacation in the Southeast Asian country most probably on Monday, a day after the grand finals night of the hit talent show “Pilipinas Got Talent,” where Aquino sits as a judge. According to Aquino’s photo captions, they will be travelling to Singapore next as part of Joshua’s birthday celebration. It wasn't clear in her captions when Aquino and her sons are planning to return to Manila. In an interview with ABS-CBN News last Saturday, Yap said he cut short his vacation to return to Manila, hoping to spend time with his son again after the Makati Regional Trial Court denied Aquino's appeal for a permanent protection order (PPO) against him on behalf of their 6-year-old son. Yap was with his family in his home town of Escalante in Negros Occidental when news about the court decision broke out. Yap’s legal counsel Lorna Kapunan earlier said the star cager prefers to see his son this week since the court decision on the PPO for Bimby brings back in place the visitation schedules for the basketball player. He was earlier allowed by the family court to visit Bimby on Wednesdays and Fridays. Kris Aquino with sons Joshua and Bimby in Malaysia. Asked whether he has activities planned for his reunion with Bimby, Yap said on Friday, "Siyempre, sisikapin ko na maging masaya kami sa bonding namin." "Ibibigay ko kung ano 'yung hilig niya ngayon, kung ano 'yung gusto niyang gawin ngayon, dahil medyo matagal-tagal kaming hindi nagkita o nag-usap, so hindi ko alam kung ano ang hilig niya ngayon," he said. Father's Day will be celebrated this year on June 16.
