MANILA, Philippines -- In addition to the rift between Charice and her mother and brother, the singer also has yet to settle her differences with the family of her girlfriend, Alyssa Quijano.
In an interview on Tuesday night, the 21-year-old, who announced on national TV that she is a lesbian, believes her relationship with Quijano's family is "getting better."
"Siyempre po hindi naman 'yon kaagad mase-settle. Alam ko deep inside mayroon ding problema. Pero at least I may say na it's getting better," Charice said.
"Sabi ko nga po kilala ko ang family niya and they are amazing, they have amazing daughter. So doon lang ako sa positive. I know everything will be okay," she added.
Asked if the family of Quijano approves of their relationship, Charice said: "I'm not gonna say yes, I'm not gonna say no. We will gonna get there."
Last month, Charice made headlines after it was reported that she supposedly ran away from home to elope with former “X Factor” finalist.
Clarifying this issue on "The Buzz" last Sunday, Charice said: “Hindi ko po alam ang sasabihin ko diyan. Umalis ako ng bahay pero alam ko, alam din naman ni mommy noon na darating sa point na iyon. Umalis ako hindi dahil ayaw ko na doon. Umalis ako dahil iyon ang kailangan kong gawin.”
According to Charice, she is now staying at a house in Cabuyao, Laguna with the people whom she never thought would “catch a bullet for me.” It wasn't clear, however, if Quijano also lives there.
Charice’s mother Raquel Pempengco previously admitted that Quijano’s mother asked for her help about the so-called elopement.
“Tumawag po sa akin 'yung mommy nung girl... Asking po for help... Nakatakas daw po kasi kahapon ng madaling araw, na may nakakita na dalawang babae din in a grey car. Nagpapatawag po ng media dahil 'yun daw po ang akala niyang makakatulong para makita niya ang anak niya,” Mrs. Pempengco said at the time, adding that the public should not jump to conclusions that the girl who took Quijano was indeed Charice.
