Vice Ganda tells Ai Ai: Stay strong

MANILA – Comedian and television host Vice Ganda expressed full support for his good friend Ai Ai delas, who recently admitted that she left her husband Jed Salang after he physically abused her. In an interview with entertainment website Pep.ph at the 44th Box Office Entertainment Awards on Sunday, Vice Ganda said he never asked delas Alas about the state of her marriage. “Nagte-text kami once in a while [ni Ai-Ai], pero nahihiya akong magtanong. Although may hint na akong nararamdaman sa tuwing nagkakausap kami, pero hindi ko na pinapa-elaborate,” he said. Giving delas Alas the personal space that she needs, Vice Ganda said he just hugs the comedienne tightly every time they bump into each other. Asked what was his reaction when he saw delas Alas’s emotional “The Buzz” interview, he said: “Siyempre nalulungkot ako… malungkot na malungkot ako para sa kanya.” Despite the difficult ordeal delas Alas is currently going through, Vice Ganda told his fellow “Sisterakas” star to just always pray. “Manatili kang matatag, manatili kang punung-puno ng panalangin, manatili kang kumakapit sa Diyos. Ako, kakapit ako sa Diyos para sa iyo,” he said. Delas Alas was among the guest stars at Vice Ganda’s concert last Friday. During her part in "I-Vice Ganda Mo 'Ko sa Araneta," the 48-year-old actress engaged in banter with Vice Ganda. The "Tanging Ina" star repeatedly said, "[May] pinagdadaanan ako," when she and Vice Ganda teasingly interacted with a member of the audience.
