Vice Ganda cries over ailing grandfather

The comedian-host, who turned 37 last March 31, was moved to tears by the appearance of his Lolo Gonzalo in a video shown as part of his birthday celebration on the noontime variety program. "Kasi 'yung lolo ko, 'yun po 'yung katuwang ng lola ko na nagpalaki sa akin," said Vice Ganda, who was raised in San Juan, La Union. "Magmula nung namulat 'yung mata ko, natuto akong naglakad, unang-una kumanta, unang-una akong tumula, unang-una akong sumali sa contest, unang-una akong nagkaroon ng medal, nandiyan na 'yung lolo ko," he said. Vice Ganda said his grandfather was recently hospitalized after he slipped and hit his head. Eh ayokong pumayag," the comedian-host said. The "It's Showtime" host said he fears that his grandfather's wish to return home is a sign that he feels he may no longer live long. Vice Ganda said that for his birthday, he only wishes to spend more years with his grandfather and the rest of their family.
