Jaclyn Jose has promised to keep her hands off daughter Andi Eigenmann’s love life. But she can’t help but advise her to “be wise” in her decisions.
Jaclyn admitted that Andi came home from London, where former boyfriend Jake Ejercito is based.
“Yes, she went but it’s between her and Jake. Ayaw ko nang makialam sa bagay na iyan,” Jaclyn told reporters in an interview at the Star Awards for Movies at the AFP Theatre on Sunday, March 10.
Andi’s denial
Andi, for her part, tweeted that she didn’t meet up with Jake.
Jaclyn also said Andi spent her own money – not Jake’s -- for her London vacation.
The veteran actress knows she can’t keep Andi from reviving her relationship with Jake if her daughter wants to.
“Wala akong magagawa kasi nanay lang ako, naging pregnant nga siya ng hindi ko alam. But siguro naman she's more intelligent enough after what happened. There could always be a second time na manloko ang lalaki. Nasa kanya na iyon.”
Jaclyn added, “It's up to Andi to decide and for me to react. Wala naman akong magagawa kundi mag-react na lang.”
The concerned mom believes she can only do so much because Andi is already capable of making her own decisions.
No reason to worry
Jaclyn proudly added that Andi is no longer giving her reasons to worry,
“I'm sure time will tell her that what I'm doing is right,” explains Jaclyn.
She and Albie Casino, Andi’s former boyfriend, almost bumped into each other at the awards night’s red carpet event. Albie came in a few seconds ahead of Jaclyn.
“Buti hindi ko siya nakita. Hindi ko siya gustong makita,” Jaclyn told the press.
Jaclyn is not yet ready to face Albie because she was deeply hurt for her daughter.
"Huwag ngayon. Hindi ko kailangan. Sarap ng sarap ng apo ko. Hindi ko sila kailangan. Not tonight," she said.
Happy with Ellie
What’s important for Jaclyn is that she’s happy with Andi’s daughter Ellie.
“Ang importante, si Ellie in-embrace namin siya wholeheartedly at mahal na mahal ko,” Jaclyn said.
It will be recalled that Andi and Jaclyn had a misunderstanding after the former revealed that Jake’s parents disapproved of their relationship. Mother and daughter have patched things up, while Jake’s father, former president Joseph Estrada, denied that he frowned on his son’s relationship with Andi.
