MANILA – After being rumored to be going out with a beauty queen, actor Rayver Cruz has set the records straight saying he is not yet ready to enter into a new relationship.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Cruz said he has opted to concentrate on his career first and grow as an actor.
“Busy pa sa work. Open naman ako sa dating pero hindi pa sa [relationship]. ...Darating lang iyan. Hindi ko naman hinahanap,” he said.
"Hindi ko masasabing I'm dating kasi hindi pa talaga, and hindi pa rin ako nando'n sa phase na parang gusto ko na manligaw. Parang nag-e-enjoy ako na single ako, na tuluy-tuloy ang blessings, naka-focus ako sa trabaho ako, sa craft ko, at happy ako na gano'n ako sa ngayon," he added.
Asked whether he prefers a non-showbiz girl the next time he falls in love, Cruz said: “Mahirap magbitaw ng salita kung non-showbiz or showbiz. Basta kapag dumating iyan, dadating iyan. Ngayon kasi gusto ko muna mag-concentrate sa work.”
Cruz’s last relationship was with actress Cristine Reyes.
Since their break-up in late 2012, Cruz said he and Reyes have maintained a close relationship.
Pointing to their amicable separation, the actor added he is happy to be working with Reyes without any awkwardness.
Both Cruz and Reyes are currently part of the Kapamilya series “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,” along with Gerald Anderson and Dawn Zulueta.
