No doubt many designers are hoping to design Kim Kardashian's wedding dress, but should her own hubby-to-be Kanye West take on the big task?
"He's an amazing designer," Kardashian's close friend, designer Rachel Roy, told me last night at the Dream for Future Africa Foundation gala honoring Vogue Italia Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani at Spago restaurant in Beverly Hills.
But wouldn't that be bad luck considering the groom isn't supposed to see the dress until his bride walk down the aisle? "It's all about breaking the rules and being brave and having the guts to do what really makes you happy," Roy said.
Yeezus codesigned K.K.'s 15-carat engagement ring with celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.
"He could have gone anywhere, but he went to one of her best friends to design the ring," Roy said. "The band is quite delicate, and for Kim that works perfectly because she has tiny hands and the stone is flawless."
Roy was one of the lucky ones invited to on Monday night to San Francisco's AT&T Park to witness and celebrate West's proposal.
"It was magical," Roy said. "It was all done from love with the intent of really wanting someone to feel as special as they are to them…The music that was played was Kim's favorite. One of the main songs is one of her favorite love songs."
