MANILA -- After airing for almost a year, ABS-CBN top-rating superhero series "Juan dela Cruz" is about to end its successful run.
The primetime hit, starring actor Coco Martin in the title role, is now down to its last three weeks with its final episode scheduled to air on October 25, a statement from ABS-CBN released on Thursday said.
Martin admitted that “Juan dela Cruz,” which premiered last February, has helped him become a better actor and more responsible Filipino.
Apart from his work on the series, Martin was also active in several "Juan Fun School Day" activities, which provided school supplies to the less fortunate students in different parts of the country.
Martin also took the opportunity to thank the viewers who loyally watched the show for the past eight months, making it the most-watched primetime series in both urban and rural households nationwide.
“Sa loob ng halos isang taon, sinamahan nila si Juan sa bawat pagsubok ng kanyang buhay—mula pagkabata, hanggang sa pagiging Tagabantay at ngayong alam na niya na siya ang Anak ng Dilim,” he said, referring to the evolution of his character in the series.
But Martin said viewers still have a lot to watch for in its last three weeks.
“Marami pang rebelasyong gugulat sa ating lahat sa last three weeks ng show," he said, hinting that there may be more characters who will die.
"Juan dela Cruz" airs weeknights after "TV Patrol" on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.
