MANILA -- A third TV series starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim is in the works, the actress confirmed, following the success of the on-screen couple's first big-screen project together.
"Ano siya, bago siya sa amin ni Xian. Sa primetime [ipapalabas]," Chiu was quoted as saying by ABS-CBN entertainment news site Push.
Referring to Lim, Chiu said, "Kahit kami excited kami sa kwento, excited kaming gawin 'yung bagong concept, so sobrang nakaka-excite. Tapos bagong offering namin ito sa mga tao."
The popular "love team" was last seen on the small screen in the primetime top-rater "Ina, Kapatid, Anak," which ended its eight-month run in June this year. This was preceded by the 2011 series "My Binondo Girl," which served as the debut vehicle of Lim and Chiu's successful tandem.
Their first movie together, "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?", was released early this year, and reportedly earned over P100 million in less than three weeks in local theaters.
"Masaya [ako]," Chiu said, of reuniting with Lim on TV. "At gusto kong magpasalamat sa lahat ng mga fans, kasi sabi nga gabi-gabi sila nagpapa-trend ng kung anu-ano na lang... Hindi biro magpa-trend kasi kailangan ang dami-dami mong kausap para magpa-trend."
Chiu was referring to topics related to her team-up with Lim trending locally on Twitter. Among others, "KimXi" (Kim and Xian), the actress shared, would frequently trend on the popular micro-blogging site.
Asked if she feels pressured over her new series co-starring Lim, considering the successes of their previous projects, Chiu said, "Oo naman."
"Lahat naman siguro ng tatanungin nating artista, may pressure talaga... So huwag mo munang iisipin 'yung pressure pag gumawa ka ng teleserye," she said.
