MANILA - Actress Claudine Barretto said she is proud of her nieces, Julia and Dominique, amid her row with their respective mothers, Marjorie and Gretchen Barretto.
Claudine said she misses her nieces, whom she referred to as her own children.
She hopes that the younger Barrettos will be spared from the issue surrounding her and their respective mothers.
"Sobra akong proud. I'm so proud of you, Julia, and even Doms, you are growing to be such beautiful ladies, inside and out. Mama pretty loves you so much. There's nothing in this world that I won't do for you guys and I miss you. I miss you so much," Claudine said in interview with ABS-CBN News.
Inday, Claudine's mother, earlier defended the actress against allegations that she is out to ruin Julia's career.
Marjorie's daughter Julia, 16, was recently introduced as an artist of Star Magic, the ABS-CBN talent management firm that launched Claudine to stardom until her transfer to another network in 2009.
In a previous interview, Julia stressed that she is a fan of her aunt Claudine.
Currently, Julia is gearing up for her debut series, "Mira Bella," while Claudine is preparing for her movie comeback.
