MANILA -- Besides being a full-time housewife and a mother, former beauty queen Melanie Marquez is also busy being a cowgirl in Utah.
Marquez is now based in Utah with her husband Adam Lawyer, a ranch owner. But she is currently on a vacation with her children in the Philippines.
"I'm a farmer's wife," Marquez said in an interview with radio dzMM's "Mismo" Friday night.
"Siyempre tinutulungan ko [si Adam], though may mga managers kami saka may mga cowboys kami doon, I also have to check the cattles kasi ito ang biggest operation namin," she said.
She shared that horseback riding has already become one of her favorite pastimes.
"If you really go to a ranch, you will see a lot of tractors, puro pang-cowboy talaga," Marquez said.
"Ayun nangangabayo ako, at nagrerepair din ng bahay namin," she added.
Meanwhile, the Miss International 1979 winner admitted she also misses showbiz, but said her priority now is her family.
"Namimiss ko naman but then siyempre priority ko pamilya ko. My husband needed me there, eh wala naman kaming katulong," Marquez said.
