Kate Middleton and Prince William have begun a new chapter.
On Monday, the royal couple welcomed the birth of their firstborn into the world. The proud parents named their son George Alexander Louis, as a nod to Queen Elizabeth II's father.
The Prince of Cambridge weighed in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and arrived at 4:24 p.m. local time.
Now that the anticipated arrival of their son has finally taken place, the Duke and Duchess of Wales have sprung into parenthood mode.
So what does that entail for the couple?
Despite their royal status, the new parents have to endure the usual duties of diaper changing, feeding and sleepless nights, all in the baby's classic, simple and elegant nursery. (Hopefully the singing the royal lullaby helps on those tough nights.)
Luckily, the duo aren't tackling this unknown road alone.
Kate and Wills (who is currently on a two-week paternity leave from being an RAF search and rescue command pilot) hired one of Queen Elizabeth II's most trusted servants as their housekeeper in May.
Antonella Fresolone's duties include caring for the family's clothing, silverware and glassware, cleaning all areas of the residence and walking the couple's adorable black cocker spaniel, Lupo.
Also there to lend a helping hand is Middleton's mother, Carole.
But the little brood will be making a move in the coming months.
William, Kate and their baby boy plan to move into their newly refurbished apartment at Kensington Palace in either September or October. With Wiliam behind the wheel of their Range Rover, the family of three left their royal digs on Wednesday for Kate's parents' place in Bucklebury, West Berkshire.
"The Middleton influence on this child will be undoubtedly quite strong," royals expert Sally Bedell Smith told Today on Thursday. "Over the years that he has been with Kate, William has been able to go there [to his in-laws' home] and enjoy an ordinary, middle-class family life. His children will be able to do the same."
