MANILA – TV director and Taguig City second district Rep. Lino Cayetano on Monday reiterated that there is nothing romantic going on between him and TV host Kris Aquino.
In an interview with Boy Abunda to be aired Tuesday night on “Bandila,” Cayetano insisted that he and Aquino are just good friends and nothing more.
“We are very good friends. Hindi kami nag-date but we are very good friends,” he said.
The neophyte lawmaker, however, admitted that they have constant communication and they exchange text messages up to now.
Rumors of a romantic relationship between Aquino and the director started in January, following his guest appearance on the host's morning talk show "Kris TV."
Rumors romantically linking the two surfaced anew in April after they were spotted arriving together at the birthday party of young actor Daniel Padilla.
According to a reliable source of “The Buzz,” Aquino and Cayetano arrived and left Padilla’s party at the same time.
Asked in a previous interview how his friendship with Aquino developed, Cayetano said, "I met her before through Liz Uy (fashion stylist, also Cayetano's former girlfriend), tapos sa ABS nagkikita kami, then more and more nag-uusap kami."
"Sa akin, it's simple lang -- we're friends. If there's anything more to it, siguro people will know naman, if that ever happens," he added.
Dating Shaina?
Aside from Aquino, there were also rumors linking the lawmaker to actress Shaina Magdayao.
A previous “The Buzz” report said Cayetano and Magdayao were seen together in an event.
But according to Cayetano, the 23-year-old actress is just his “very very good friend.” “I’m very very good friends with Shaina and she’s a wonderful, wonderful person,” he said.
Asked if they are exclusively dating, he said: “No naman. But I like her. She’s a wonderful person.”
