Jackie Chan is ready to express himself through the art of song and dance.
The Hong Kong-born action-movie icon has revealed that he is penning a script for a musical adaptation of his 1998 memoir I Am Jackie Chan: My Life in Action.
"We are looking for a director for the musical right now. It's all very exciting," Chan said at a press conference today at the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The show will reportedly encompass the lives of his parents, the Rush Hour star's early education at the Peking Opera School and his rise to stardom.
Chan's musical will also touch on his early youth, the time he spent as an acrobat with the children's performance group the Seven Little Fortunes and how he managed to distinguish himself from fellow martial-arts film legend Bruce Lee.
The 59-year-old star was also in town to receive a lifetime achievement award last night from the New York Asian Film Festival, which screened his latest movie, Chinese Zodiac.
