MANILA – Sarah Geronimo is hoping that the next time she falls in love, it will be with the person who will make her feel the true meaning of love.
This was the Kapamilya singer’s bold revelation after her much-publicized romances with two popular actors in the past.
“Sabi ko nga the next time na I fall in love, sana totoo na. Sana totoo na talaga. Iyon ‘yung kahit ilang taon ako maghintay, okay lang basta totoong pagmamahal. Kahit na hindi mag-work out, kahit mag-fail, at least naramadaman ko 'yung totoong pagmamahal, hindi lang 'yung para lang sa mga taong nakakakita,” she told ABS-CBN News on Tuesday.
Geronimo, however, admitted that she does not have a set of standards she wants in a man.
“May mga nagsasabi na kailangan may ideal man ka, may hahanapin ka. Okay din iyon pero ang pag-ibig kasi hindi mo maipaplano iyan. Minsan ‘Ayaw ko sa ganito, sa ganyan.’ Hindi mo talaga masasabi kung kanino ka mai-in love,” she said.
The “The Voice of the Philippines” coach also said she does not want to make the same mistakes again in choosing the “right guy.”
“Napakaimportante ang say ng mga magulang. Ayaw ko nang gawin ang mga naging pagkakamali ko in the past. Kailangan balanse lahat eh. Mayroon din akong sariling desisyon pero kailangan i-honor ko din yung gusto ng mga magulang ko,” she said.
But even without a love life, Geronimo said she is making the most out of her single life.
“Tahimik ang buhay na walang love life. Ang sarap kayang maging single. Iyan kasi ang bagay na ayaw mong...siyempre may pagkakataon na nalulungkot ka, naiinggit ka pero at the end of the day, kailangan mong intindihin na mayroong tamang panahon para sa pag-ibig,” she said.
Second highest-grossing film
Meanwhile, the singer took the opportunity to thank moviegoers for making her latest film with John Lloyd Cruz the highest-grossing non-MMFF local film of all time.
“Hoping po siyempre na talagang tanggapin ng mga manonood ang part three pero happy na ako personally dahil ang ganda ganda po ng nagawa naming pelikula. Hindi na po ako masyadong umasa na kailangan ma-surpass ang highest-grossing. Pero hoping tayo siyempre, bonus na lang kung mangyari iyon,” she said in an interview with Korina Sanchez on dzMM Thursday morning.
“It Takes a Man and a Woman,” which is the final installment in the series of romantic-comedy movies starring Cruz and Geronimo, has already earned P345 million in ticket sales as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.
It is now second in terms of total box-office earnings after the 2012 MMFF entry "Sisterakas," which earned P391 million during its run in cinemas.
“Ang nangyayaring success ng pelikula na one week pa lang, umabot na agad ng P200 million, sobra sobra na po iyon,” said Geronimo.
Now on its third week, Geronimo said: “Sana po 'yung mga hindi pa nakakapanood, sana huwag nilang palampasin kasi iba yung may kasama kang ibang tao na nakikitawa ka sa kanila, nakikiiyak ka sa kanila.”
